Mot Vol. 2

In 2005, Mot snagged the coveted Best New Artist trophy at the second annual Korean Music Awards with their debut album Mot Vol. 1 - Non-Linear . In 2007, they reached another milestone when Mot Vol. 1 - Non-Linear was selected as one of the top hundred albums in Korean music history by Oi Music. Now comes one of the most anticipated albums of the year, Mot Vol. 2 - A Strange Season.

Although their style of music is deeply rooted in the 1990s modern rock and British pop, Mot differentiates themselves from other groups by placing less emphasis on overtly melancholic melodies and more on rational structured sounds. Renowned mastering engineer George Marino adds Mot Vol. 2 - A Strange Season to his colorful resume which already includes an impressive list of albums from artists such as Sterling Sound, Coldplay, and Bon Jovi. With every song emitting its own characteristics in this 14-track disc, Mot displays a deeper sense of maturity and versatility. The music video for Close (Track 2) features 3-D animation from the same company that made the film Yobi, The Five Tailed Fox.

2005년 한국 대중음악상 신인상 수상의 그룹 MOT. 2007년 새 앨범 [이상한 계절]과 함께 돌아오다.

데뷔 앨범으로 2005년 제 2회 한국 대중음악상 "신인" 부문과 "최우수 모던록" 부문에 후보로 올라 "신인"상을 거머쥐었다. 한편 그들의 데뷔 앨범은 2007년 오이뮤직이 선정한 한국 대중음악사를 빛낸 명반 100선에 선정!!!!

MOT는 90년대 모던락/브릿팝을 그들 음악의 근간으로 하고 있지만, 많은 타 그룹들이 현학적으로 추종하던 근거없는 우수와 멜랑콜리한 감상에 치중하기 보다는, 정돈되어 있고 이성적인 음악을 지향한다. New York의 스털링 사운드(Sterling Sound)에서 Coldplay나 Bon Jovi의 앨범을 마스터링 한 바 있는 베테랑 조지 마리노(George Marino)가 마스터링한 새 앨범 [이상한 계절]에는 총 14곡의 새로운 노래들이 담겨 있다. 단순하면서도 복잡한 14곡의 노래들이 때로는 희망차게, 때로는 담담하게, 때로는 우울하게, 때로는 격정적으로, 때로는 낯익게 다가오며 전작보다 성숙되고 깊어진, 그러면서도 다양해진 면모들을 이질적이면서도 동질적으로 새 앨범을 장식한다. 첫 싱글로 커트될 예정인 'Close'는 한마디로 단순하면서도 복잡한 곡으로 멤버들이 가장 많은 시간과 공을 들였다고 한다. 'Close'의 뮤직비디오는 최근 애니메이션 영화 "여우비"를 통해 찬사를 받았던 제작사 <떠다니는 섬>이 약 5개월여 심혈을 기울여 3D 애니메이션으로 제작하여, 복잡하면서도 단순한 아름다움을 극적으로 잘 표현해주고 있다.
