I am USA caucasian. I was surprised to hear so many USA oldies in the show. BE MY LOVE ("for no one can end this yearning"...) is one of the best American love songs of the past60-70 years. Nearly every great USA vocalist has 'covered' the song in that time.It hasn't been done much since the early 1960's, so I was thrilled to recognise it in 'My Name is Kim Sam-soon'- along with some other lovely familiar songs& melodies. I don't speak Korean, only English..yet to know the singers' passion & art was easy. Such GREAT Vocalists you have in Korean tv shows. It isnt necessary to 'know' the songs'words, because of the passion of the singers. I adore 'Samsoon' the show. Kim Seon-A is a truly wonderful actress. I will watch her in anything i can find, from now on. What I don't understand as a Westerner, is how you can say 'Samsoon' is ugly, plain, or such things. I thought she was beautiful, and had trouble figuring out who was supposed to be 'plain' & who 'good looking'- I thought the nice young actress who played a manipulative boyfriend stealer was too skinny for her health..but as I say, I dont know who is supposed to be gorgeous & who not - mostly everyone seemed gorgeous, except for the 'Kissing Bandit" at Bon Appetit...I thought Sam-Soon's mom was beautiful. Those black eyes are so lovely. Samsoon's eyes were so expressive, that I cried everytime she did, plus a few other times. Sister was gorgeous. loved the whole family. I had a hard time getting to like Jin-Hyun because he was really mean & rotten. Same with Hee-jin ; how can I like such selfish & selfcentered young people who were old enough to 'know better'? The practice saying cruel things & expecting "I'm sorry' to fix things up is just too different for me. Yet this is one of my favorite shows, including , ESPECIALLY including American tv - I love the look at a unique culture that has retained much of its' old values - even if I am no fan of such patriarchy. Koreans are honest about it, we Americans pretend we aren't. I love Korean music & Hallyu, MBC is my favorite tv producer. Long live Dae Jang-Guem !

music is good. after watch the show my lovely sam soon buy this cd. the songs are nice and beautiful. every time play this cd will remind of the show and the love that kim sam soon and heon have.

My Lovely Sam Soon OST is FANTASTIC. It has the main theme song "Be My Love" which is played at the beginning of the show... a very upbeat and fun song. There are so many great songs that I love... especially songs like "She is" and "Inside My Heart". There are many other slow songs that are beautiful. Each time I listen to this CD... I think about the scenes from the show and sometimes either laugh or cry. Inside, the lyrics book is attached to the CD and contains some nice photos from the show. For My Lovely Sam Soon fans... this is a definite CD you want to have to match with the DVD that you bought. Highly recommend.

This is such a cool CD, it has all the songs from the drama so it will surely give you a back flash of all the beautiful scenes from the drama. Inside the CD is pages of beautiful pictures from the drama. Unlike other soundtracks where the whole CD is revolved around one song. This CD is totally different. This CD has great tunes. I'm just glad that I bought it.

Firstly, I watched the TV serial and loved it, before attempting the soundtrack. So when I listened to the soundtrack, it was a case of revisiting something I already love. Most of the music you hear in the serial are included in this OST, so it brings back really nice memories of the serial. Songs that are not in this OST are the piano tracks that are played by the characters in the serial - those tracks are found in the OST Vol.2.

For listeners who have not watched the TV serial, this OST is mostly made up of love ballads and various instrumental pieces. My favourites include Track 3 (She Is) which is a mid-tempo track, and Track 6, a bittersweet song very nicely-handled by Ji Sun of Loveholic. The instrumental pieces are mainly piano tracks - gentle and easy-on-the-ears.

VERDICT : Get this if you're a fan of the serial! For the non-fan, this OST may not be that good as a stand-alone album.

Frankly speaking, i used to live in the "cave" when the Korean craze is still hot in the air and I have never watched any Korea episode even though the whole world is talking about it. Until which my sis introduced me to watch my very first Korean show ie. "My lovely Samsoon", which I like the show so much bcos it really relates the true lifestyle of a woman in these modern days. Being independent, geniuine and yet determine to overcome any difficulties along the way to find her happiness. I shared the same sediments with Samsoon by sobbing with her because I have completely comprehend her emotions.

If you loved the series, you'll love the soundtrack!
If I am correct, every song in the series is on the album; including the piano pieces (the main theme "Chocolate"). Listening to the album stirs up particular scenes vividly-it's wonderful! That's what a soundtrack should do! This is one of the best soundtracks I've ever bought!

My sister's friend hasn't even seen this series but she listened to the CD and she loved it. Of course I loved it too but I admit I loved it more because I have seen the series.

 A disappointing copycat - Be My Love Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
"Be my love," the most played tune in this fun mini-series this summer in 2005 was, indeed, a copycat of a NYC-based pop group "[scissor sisters] - filthy/gorgeous."

Anyone who has [Scissor Sisters CD] will definitely notice that this OST song copied this American Pop group's intro, which was often used in the scenes which needed some mood-escalating tunes.

You can check out the original songs in Amazon.com and can compare "filthy/gorgeous" with "Be my love."

Unfortunately, other than this song, 'Be my love,' the others are lame just like any other TV soap OSTs. This OST CD will never stand alone without the success of the actual drama.

Although it was formulated of a typical story-an ugly poor girl meets a prince of a dream, there are lots of funny twists in this drama you will enjoy thanks to inventing this ordinary spinster character, Sam-soon(trans. to ' the third-born daugher: just like John Doe)

My advice is to go and watch this soap first before rushing to buy this CD.
