Who hasn't heard about NANA? The mega-popular manga from creator Yazawa Ai has already been adapted into a blockbuster feature film, and now the TV anime series is upon us. NANA is the story of two girls, Nana Komatsu and Nana Osaki, who find friendship and resolve after meeting on a Tokyo-bound train. Nana K (also called "Hachi") is the cute, demure one who travels to Tokyo to follow the boy of her dreams, while the gothic Nana O seeks fame and fortune as a rock star. The two couldn't be more different, but somehow the two decide to live together, and discover that each may be uniquely able to help the other on the road of life.
The NANA Vol. 1 DVD contains the first episode of the series, and includes both textless opening and closing themes, by Anna Tsuchiya and OLIVIA, respectively.
