Effects are good
| Its a story of a guy who feel in love with an android who is about to be destroyed. The visual effects were done nicely. The story is very good. Not the classic one. Worth buying. |

it's good, but don't hope too much..
|
Expect to see blood and body parts, and some scenes are vigorously dark. But, on the brighter side, the two girls are hotties. They're the utmost reason why I keep on hoping for something fresh throughout the movie. The plot itself is cold and underdeveloped. The scene keeps on jumping from one story to another, without any grounding characterization. This is my first actionpacked Kmovie, tho, so I don't have comparison of such. The action is good, but it's pretty much the usual with any other asian actions. The another plus point is that it has well graphed CGI representation of future world. |

Ok movie. . . expected sumthing else
| I think it my fault expecting it to be more of like a "hide from the police, and run like hell to save the girl I love so that I can be with her" kind of movie. It wasnt exactly like that. Maybe it was my fault expecting from more from the characters. I though there should have been some more love scenes. Sure they dont have to hug and kiss every 5 minutes but at times, they hardly talked. Plus, I think their love was suppose to be something special like, there was a certain reason why they fell in love. Like, maybe she had become more human with her time with him. Maybe she softened his heart- But it didnt seem like that happened. Maybe I need to look at it agian, but she seems so much like a robot. I really expected her to show some more human characteristics. But I think in the end, she kind of did. Also, what i did like was that the movie was so long, it had a lot of scenes that just dragged with that annoying girl. But I do have to say, the dvd start up screen is pretty sweet, kind of like the ending. But, I still think they marketed it wrong in the trailer. |

Excellent
| If you are a Bladerunner fan then you need this in your SiFi collection!!! If you are a high tech buff then this movie has lots of it. It has great techie mockups of a futuristic environment any future architect/designer/gamer would love. Backdrops you would see in the movie Bladrunner and video games like the inside of a lab in RE or The Rise of the Dragon. Great story, action, girls and mood. -T18EL |

A good if Bladerunner-esque Korean Sci-fi film
|
I just finished watching the Region 3 DVD of the Korean Science Fiction film NATURAL DAYS. I enjoyed the film, though I think it had more potential built into the storyline that waht was utilized. I will say the production design and costumes were top notch, as were the special effects. The film is very Bladerunner-esque, being set in a city in the future, where there are cyborgs with 3 year life spans, and police who hunt down rouge cyborgs. It is the story of a bastard of a cop named R who is willing to let his teammates get shot and killed so he can make the money he needs to deal with a roogue scientist. His problem is he has fallen for a cyborg that is going to die soon, and he wants the scientist to help her live on so they can both leave to a dream world where you can forget all of your memories and be reborn. This is complicated by a rogue combat cyborg that is searching fro humans with a specific DNA patern, much like the one that the doctor would use to prolong the life of R's cyborg campanion. The film isheavily Blad Runner influenced, down to the flying vehicles with mesages, and teh flying police cars, that resemble spinners. The action is pretty good, with some decent martial arts, though the wire fu for the combat cyborgs is over the top, though acceptable since they are supposed to be 4 times better than humans. While I didn't mind the story, I felt the film was lacking in some much needed character development. It is never really shown what is so great about the cyborg that R is in love with. And only through exposition from other characters do we learn that R was once one of the best MP's (the police) around. I thought there could have been more about his escaping reality by falling in love with his "doll" instead of a living breathing human woman. Still this film is certainly worth a watch. I would love to know more about the production, as this looks like a decent budget American film. |

BEAUTIFUL and HEARTBREAKING
|
Yes, flaws here and there, BUT, it's still a beautiful film. I don't want to bring up the similarities to 'Blade Runner' since we already know that and besides the director Min Byung Chun had said he had 'Blade Runner' in mind when he started writting 'Natural City.' That said. It drops you right in the middle(end?) of the lovers lives. Some might wish that they had more chance to see how their love developed. In my opinion however, this is more effective and heartbreaking. The two actors (Yoo Ji Tae and Suh Leen) are very convincing in their roles I truly felt for them. Why falling in love with a cyborg? Perhaps because the "Natural City' is not that "natural" after all and the most "natural" thing that still remains in the city is the feeling of "love"? When nothing feels "real," perhaps the supposdly the most "unnatural" thing (the cyborg) might have offered R "real" solace that is love. One of the most beautiful love scenes in Korean movie so far is in this film, the underwater "dancing" scene. I've never seen any more beautiful connection and intimacy between two beings. As for the action and SF department, they are not that good. I think it's the lack of money. After all, this film didn't have the budget 'Minority Report' had. Editing can feel abrupt and choppy. I think it is again about the money. This movie could have been much better if it was longer. Feels too short to tell all the stories. I know Korean SFs haven't been good and many of us predict the future of Korean SF negatively. But I think the future is bright. They just need more money and time. So give this movie a try! The music and the sceneries are absolutely beautiful. My suggestion! Think of this movie as a final episode of a long series, that way you will like it better. |

Great movie!
| I really enjoyed this movie. "R", once one of the best MPs, has fallen for a doll (a cyborg) and risks everything to extend her short life. This movie is loaded with terrific action scenes and the futuristic city looks great. I highly recommend this movie. |
