No Manners

YesAsia Editorial Description

Jo Geun Sik, director of Once in a Summer, made his film debut in 2002 with the entertaining high school gangster comedy No Manners, a.k.a. Conduct Zero. Working in a loaded genre that Korean cinema seems to particularly revel in, he strikes a robust mix of action, comedy, and even some romance. Entertaining and irreverent, the film is fun to watch, and certainly a sign of greater things to come for actor Ryoo Seung Bum (Crying Fist). Also moving things along is the comic energy of Lim Eun Kyung (Resurrection of the Little Match Girl), Kong Hyo Jin (Memento Mori, Sang Doo! Let's Go To School), and Bong Tae Gyu (See You After School).

Joong Pil (Ryoo Seong Bum) might not be the brightest bulb on the tree, but he is the school's top fighter and alpha gang leader. From laying claim over the school rooftop to bullying classmates to fighting rival gangs, Joong Pil's got no time for studying when there's so much troublemaking to be done. But then he falls hard for Min Hee (Lim Eun Kyung), the top student at a neighboring all-girls high school. Lovestruck Joong Pil begins to divert time from fighting to other endeavors, like chasing after Min Hee and frantically trying to find a class he can pass. But then into the pictures comes an even ruder transfer student who's intent on taking Joong Pil's top dog status.

Product Information

This movie wasnt as good as i thot it would be, but it was actually OK. FOr the most part, its a pretty funny movie. It gets pretty dramatic toward the end, the ending could have been better...but it was a nice ending none the less. Good movie, i recommend it.
