Former "Five Tigers" Kent Tong's star declined when he left TVB in the mid-1980s. But he later plied his trade at ATV and charmed his way back to the forefront. In the 1991 ATV costume martial arts series Noble Conflict, he stars as the young master of a notable family in the martial world, alongside Strawberry Yeung, Stephen Au, Tiffany Liu, and Mok Ka Yiu. The wuxia drama won a heap of praise as the hero's tormented romance resonated with the audience, while the sword fights, jiang hu conflicts, and royal court intrigues added spices to the entertaining story.
Murong Jianqiu (Kent Tong) meets street performer Qu Lijiang (Strawberry Yeung) and they instantly fall in love with each other. Jianqiu gives her his family's proprietary swordplay manual, much to the dismay of his father. The evil Ren Qingkuang defeats the Murongs' ally in a duel and he also tricks Lijiang into passing him Murong's swordplay manual, with which he uses against the Murong clan and kills Jianqiu's father. In grief and fury, Jianqiu finds himself conflicting about his feelings for Lijiang. Hua Yanyue (Tiffany Liu) blames the Murongs for her father's death, and vows vengeance by sending assassins after Jianqiu and Lijiang....

Product Information

Great show, epic storyline

This was a great show on SBS Ausatralia with subtitles many years ago. I'd still marry Fa Yim Yuet even with her scar. I wish this was a subtitled version, maybe SBS could help them with it. And I am also still trying to copy the Tan Chin secret... Thomas |
