Watch it for Kong Hyung Jin Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
"North Korean Guys!" is an amusing film that would have benefitted from a simpler approach. The movie (which actually was entitled "Lost in the South") is at its best when it focusses on the two North Korean seamen, blown ashore in South Korea by a typhoon, in their interactions with life in the south as they struggle to return to the north. The film loses its energy when it wastes time on a group of high school girls dallying at the beach or the cops and thugs who are chasing them.

Kong Hyung Jin, perhaps best known for his role as Dr. Gong in "Alone in Love", provides most of the comedic soul of this film. Jung Jun Ho does a nice job as his ever-serious superior officer. "North Korean Guys!" is a diverting way to spend 90 minutes, but could have been much better with a clearer focus.

I have a chinese angle. Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I love this movie because I can feel something similar with North Korea has like Mainland China.

I adore South Korean and that kind of society. Nobody is higher than other ppl. They live peaceful lives.

When that "silly north korean guy" said,"what do we devote all our lives for?" and the lieutenant had no answer, I feel this movie is quite ironical. Well actually I felt it ironical from the first beginning of this movie.

But I also believe that, things are worse in reality, this is only a comedy.

Comment from Mainland China

hm... Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
i really like silly movies, and i really enjoyed this film. i thought gong hyung jin ? (the fatter guy) was so hilarious. it was predictable, but it's just a crazy comedy what should you expect? The movie wasn't completely pointless like a lot of other american slap-stick comedies, it had an actual plot.

However, my korean isn't perfect and i watched the film without the english subtitles, but korean can be funnier than the english translation i think...if you can imagine what i mean? *shrug*

Other are Better out there but....?? Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
It's still enjoyable watching it with a bunch of friends. I didn't really like the lead actress as I thought she wasn't attractive at all but her performance was decent. The other two main leads played their parts well. I'd recommend this since nothing in Korean film lately has been a solid enough judgement to recommend.
