April 26, 2006 Jet Li's ideal Wu Shu EthicsThough I'm quite familar with chinese history, I still rate this movie fairly high even if story's not correlated with the real facts. That's because it's a well told movie with good wu shu choregraphy, nice sceneries, and its theme's well presented - Jet Li's view of wu shu values and ethics - which you may say "we've seen this before" or "we've heard this before", but I think is still a good message and worthy 'cause they come from thousands of years of our culture. Maybe if you see this movie as Jet Li's self-indications of his life (up until now) and wanting to make a statement before his body can't cope with the hard fighting (he's 42+ by the way), then I think it's very entertaining. The only bad thing is that a good 40min has cut from this version of the movie. It's better to wait for the un-cut version to come out. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
March 22, 2006 Historic, Not Scenic
If you are looking for absolute scenaries of the Silk Route, then you should go and find the 1979 version. Yet, this one emphasises on the history, religion and cultures on the China part of the Silk Route. If you are a history fan like me, you'll love it. In my opinion, it's so worth to get it - especially when you've seen the virtually remake of the wall paintings in the grotto, 'cause the original pieces are scattered around the world in English, Korean, Japanese, Indian, German and Russian national museums. Perhaps Love (2-Disc Special Version) (Hong Kong Version)
March 10, 2006 Peter Chan - Nice Try!Comments I'd seen about this movie were quite extreme. Some people loved it, some people hated it. So, I had a good think before buying the DVD. And it turns out to be quite OKAY. The filmatography and the settings and the dancings were great. And the actors have done the best they could too. You can really tell Peter Chan's ambitious from the way the movie's drawn together. The only let down is the linking of scene to scene is sometimes awkward and makes the movie hard to follow sometimes. Other than that, I think is a great job. Did you find this review helpful? After Ten - Wyman Wong Best Selections (2CD+VCD)

February 21, 2006 "Best" Selections?!?!Mr Wyman Wong has only been a lyrics composer for 10 years?? That's my first query, and my second query is about the title "the best". It's certainly not containing all the goods one, it's more like the "most profitable" ones. For me, the one is of his earliest work on Faye Wong's album (the pinky, mandarin one) when Faye's only in her early pregnancy of her 1st child. The song's title is about "cards" and it's so good.. so raw, so sarcastic, so straight forward that you don't often see Wyman writes any of these anymore. But...anyway...my point is that, this is still a highly "consumable" collection. Wyman is one of the better lyrics composers other than Richard Lam. You can just sometime read either's works as short comtemporary poems and they are just fantastic. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
The Usual Suspects
June 17, 2002 A very unusal "USUAL SUSPECTS"!This movie was out quite a while a go and is one of my favourite movies. The suspense and the plot were great and Kevin Spacey was awesome in here. If you are a Kevin Spacey fan like me, you should watch this. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
