YesAsia Editorial Description
Based on famous serial novels by Baku Yumemakura, Onmyoji utilizes state-of-the-art special effects, gorgeous period detail, and a stripped-from-anime sensibility to create a crowd-pleasing spectacle of the first order! Released in Japan in 2001, Onmyoji went on to gross more than 3.1 billion Yen, and was only outperformed at the box office by the Hayao Miyazaki animated film Spirted Away. In 2003, a sequel to Onmyoji was released, fittingly titled Onmyoji 2.

Product Information

When I first saw this movie I was completley blown away. Then if that wasen't enough part two was shown right after.I do not like to watch and read at the same time, but it didn't matter to me with this film.I think that these's two movie's are the best movie's I have ever seen coming from another country. I think the actor's were all great.I fell in love with the actress in the second movie.I don't even know her name but I almost cried when she died. She was so very beatiful. These's two movie's I will watch over and over again for many long year's. |

This movie was so Good. I rent it at first than I went and bought the DVD. If you are fans of Japanese horror and demon slaying, this is the perfect movie for you. Yup, it is good like Otogi from Xbox. |

| I had never heard of or seen this movie until it was shown on HBO. I thought it was the greatest. It can tend to be a little corny at times, and some of the technology looks like it's from the 80's instead of the new millennium. But, if you look past all of that...it's really a heart warming story about love. I actually cried at the end. I think everyone should see it at least once! |

| This is a beautiful film reflecting the rich culture of the Heian Period. Nomura Mansai + Abe no Seimei combination is just too good to be true~~~A pretty smile in addition to unbelievable skills translate into killer attraction. The director's decision on letting Nomura sama play Seimei is plainly brilliant, who else would look so much like a fox(such an adorable one too)? Although it is true that they probably had a small budget, quite visible through the very Surrealistic props (kinda like Godzilla) and lack of speicial effects (compare to the second movie). HOwever, this doesn't reduce it's quality at all...I literally watch this movie EVERYDAY...can't wait for the Second movie to come out~~~it's coming out next week (in Japan~~~ ) |
