2001年10月からテレビ東京系列などで放送され、大ヒットを記録したスポーツ・アニメ「テニスの王子様」。『週刊少年ジャンプ』に連載された許斐剛の同名人気コミックをベースに、テニスの名門校に入学したクールな天才少年の活躍を描いて好評を博した。
本作は、その大人気アニメがさらにパワーアップした、OVAの第2シリーズ。人気急上昇のライバル校・四天宝寺中が登場し、さらに白熱する全国大会準決勝の様子を追っている。OVAならではのハイクオリティなアニメーションで、ナニワの超異色ダブルスに挑む、桃城と海堂の戦いを鮮やかに活写していく。

アフロのカツラに覆面バンダナ。四天宝寺の異色ペア・小春とユウジは、『笑かしたモン勝ち』をモットーに、次々と脱力ギャグプレーを繰り出してくる。桃城と海堂が完全にペースを乱されるなか、実はIQ200の天才児という小春によって、海堂の"トルネードスネイク"があっさりと攻略された。振り回されっぱなしの青学ペアがとった対抗策は…。
