2001年10月からテレビ東京他にて放送され大人気となったスポーツ・アニメ「テニスの王子様」。原作は「週刊少年ジャンプ」に連載された許斐剛（このみたけし）によるコミック。テニスの名門・青春学園中等部に入学してきたクールな天才テニス・プレイヤー、越前リョーマが繰り広げる戦いや交流を描く、痛快スポ根アニメである。
その大人気アニメがさらにパワーアップしてOVAとして登場。決戦の舞台を全国大会に移し、全国制覇に向けた新生青学テニス部の戦いを、OVAならではのクオリティの高いアニメーションで描いた話題作である。
中学テニスの頂点を決める全国大会。全国から強豪が集まる中、前年の優勝校・立海大付属を関東大会決勝でくだした青学も注目を集めていた。そんな中、会場に全米オープンを終えて帰国したばかりのリョーマが姿を現す…。
