The Energy Air Force has been soaring through the digital skies of video games for a number of years now, but OVER G FIGHTERS by Taito for the XBOX 360 takes the story to new heights. As a member of this elite squad, players will be sent on several missions that will require them to take down enemy targets with the help of their wingmen. The targets could be in the air, in the water, or even on land, depending on what players are being asked to accomplish. The wingmen that players will be working with start off on the same level, but their skills build just like the players as they work through the game. Players can control the other plane's movements by telling them which formations to fly, and when to do this. Because of this, the player has the ultimate control of the situation instead of merely relying on computer AI. Also, the Xbox Live option allows up to eight players to play together with a chat function to communicate and discuss strategy.
The massive, challenging missions with interlocking sub-missions take the pilots to aerial battles all over the world. Players are well equipped to face more than 90 Western and former Soviet enemies. Get in the cockpit of the F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16C Fighting Falcon, F/A-18C Hornet, Su-27 Flanker, MiG-29A Fulcrum, F-117A Nighthawk, and even the F-22A Raptor, the US air superiority fighter of the 21st century. In addition to 360-degree cockpit views from realistic, highly detailed and functional instrumentation, players can feel the G-forces and hear the roar of jet engines in 5.1 channel stereo as they ignite the after burner. It is also possible to save combat triumphs and learn from defeats by recording and replaying aerial exploits.
