Pandora's Booth (DVD) (Hong Kong Version) DVD Region All

The first of three high-definition films produced by Derek Yee (Shinjuku Incident) for Star Chinese Movies, the 2006 film Pandora's Booth revolves around a pair of lovers connected across time through a mysterious telephone booth. Pop stars Kenny Kwan (The Deserted Inn) and Fiona Sit, who collaborated with Yee before in 2 Young, play young lovers whose fates are forever altered by a call from the future. Directed by Albert Mak Kai Kwong (Dummy Mummy Without a Baby), the film also co-stars singer Karen Tong and Wong Hap Hei as Kwan's older self who opens Pandora's Booth.

Electrician Fai (Wong Hap Hei) is married with a three-year-old daughter, but his relationship with his wife (Karen Tong) is lukewarm at best. One stormy night, he comes across an old-fashioned phone booth that mysteriously connects him to his girlfriend Mei (Fiona Sit), who passed away two decades ago. From that day on, whenever it rains Fai calls Mei at that booth, creating misunderstandings between Mei and Fai's younger self (Kenny Kwan). It was an argument that led to Mei's fatal accident 20 years ago. When Fai realizes what his phone calls have done, he tries to change the past to save Mei, further rewriting the past, present, and future.

Fai is a 39-year old lighting electrician. Married with a 3-year old daughter, Fai is no longer in love with his wife seems more capable and more the head of the family, 20 years ago, Fai just got into university and was dating Ming Mei, a banker's daughter who lived on Mid-Levels. A landslide took Ming Mei's life and afterwards Fai married Ming Mei's roommate. One stormy day a mystery old phone booth appears on the road where Fai is working. To his surprise, Fai dials through to Ming Mei from 20 years ago. Soon tody's Fai is calling Ming Mei every stormy day and his younger self feels threatened by the strange caller Realishing his fault, Fai sets out to contact himself from 20 years ago to clear up the misunderstanding and maybe even save Ming Mei from the landslide and change the course of his eventual unhappy marriage.
