The Baby Queen still reigns!

In "The Pearl Phoenix" Li Jing surely is the most adorable inspector general of all time. Something magical happens when I watch these wonderful Shaw Brothers Huangmeixi romances. The combination of the sumptuous sets, gorgeous costumes, beautiful actors, and memorable music transports me to a childlike state in which I am transfixed with a kind of inebriated joy by some of the most astonishing plots ever devised. "The Pearl Phoenix" is no exception. I enjoyed every moment of this pearl of a movie. And you will, too. Very highly recommended for a general audience. |

What a Pearl
| Li Ching is a real pearl in this movie. Good movie to remember the old days. Would have been better if the part of the male was played by Ivy Ling Po. The story line was "sort of" rush through in the end. |
