　　Written and directed by shock master Brian De Palma, Phantom Of The Paradise is an outrageous horror-rock comedy that has become a cult favorite. The film features a score by pop artist Paul Williams, also starring as Swan, a notorious record tycoon who has sold his soul to the devil for success. Swan's current scheme is to steal the work of meek rock composer Winslow Leach (William Finley) and use it to celebrate the opening of his new Paradise Theatre. While trying to stop Swan, Leach becomes the victim of a freak accident that leaves him horribly disfigured, and he takes refuge in the cavernous Paradise, hiding his mangled face beneath an eerie mask and planning gruesome vengeance upon Swan-and everyone else who has hurt him. A wicked satire on the music business, this chiller provides both laughs and scares with a keen eye towards the macabre and the bizarre.
