'91年12月から講談社刊「なかよし」に連載された武内直子の原作によるコミック「美少女戦士セーラームーン」は、'92年にはTVアニメ化されて話題となり、その後劇場版アニメやミュージカルも大ヒットするなど、社会現象と言われるほどの一大ブームを巻き起こした。本作は、'92年3月からテレビ朝日系にて放送されたTVアニメ版第1シリーズのDVD化。主人公・月野うさぎをはじめとする魅力的なキャラクター＆コスチューム、そして「月にかわっておしおきよ！」の名セリフを楽しめる、アニメ史に残る大ヒット作である。

Excellent release! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The quality of the Sailor Moon region 2 DVDs is spectacular. Compared the subpar region 1 releases, these are infinitely superior. The color is vibrant and bright, there is no grainy fuzz clouding the picture, and the sound is as clear as modern day anime! The episodes looked amazing on my television. I especially liked the DVD's cover artwork, and the foil accents were a nice touch. Most people complain about the lack of subtitles, but you can follow the episode easily enough without them. If you want quality, I recommend starting with the R2 releases -- they're definitely worth it!

As far as being "remastered" goes, its not too true. The video quality is almost the same as what ADV had when they released this in North America. However, it shows up beautifully on TV. The amazing part is actually the sound quality, which sounds like it was recorded yesterday and not 13 years ago. The release is very pretty, including the artwork used. The only thing that's not so great is the DVD menu, which COULD have been better. But I recommend this to ANY Sailor Moon fan because its SO worth it.

FINALLY!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
After several years of being a Sailormoon and never having an official copy of the series completely uncut and uncensored I can finally say I do since Japan's done this wonderful job of re-releasing them all after about 20 years on DVD completely re-enhanced and restored. US's job with releasing this series was just terrible. They couldn't keep it uncut, subtitle properly or restore the animation after all the damage it's taken over the years. But here it is. Japan's done it and I'm glad they did, cuz now that I know Japanese fluently I can truly and fully enjoy this series. If you know Japanese or are learning it add these re-released Sailormoon DVDs to your cart! You'll love owning a classic the way it should be for the first time!
