Aired on WOWWOW in November 2008, the Prison Break-inspired suspense drama Prisoner is based on the true story of a Japanese man who breaks out of jail after getting falsely imprisoned in Thailand. Tamayama Tetsuji (Boss) stars as the titular Prisoner, former teacher Keigo who uses any and all means to devise his prison escape. Filmed in Japanese, Thai, and English, Prisoner was shot in Thailand with the cooperation of the Thai navy. The five-episode drama's supporting cast includes Tsuruta Maya (Atsu-Hime), Omori Nao (Climber's High), Sada Mayumi (Papa to Musume no Nanokakan), Nakamura Shunsuke (Hancho), and Kohinata Fumiyo (Konkatsu!).
