　　張韻聲是音樂學院教授，認為音樂是純技術性的藝術，是單純的美。學生們對他的觀點紛紛，他憤而辭職，在家�媦g作品，效力舉行自己的作品音樂會，沒想到音樂會失敗了。一家人生活日趨貧困，債主又登門逼債只好用鋼琴作抵押。他徹底絕望了，甚至想到自殺。在朋友們和女兒的幫助下，他回到學生中去。開始重新審視自己的藝術觀點，不久，他寫作了歌曲《青春之歌》，受到群眾的歡迎。
