거친 세상보다 더 거칠게 살아온 남자가 온다!
고등학교 3학년인 태웅(조승우)은 친구의 복수를 위해 이웃 학교에 갔다가 승문(유하준)의 가족과 묘한 인연을 맺는다. 승문의 아버지 박일원이 무소속으로 출마한 민의원 선거, 유세장은 자유당의 사주를 받은 정치깡패들의 난입으로 아수라장이 된다.
승문의 누나 혜옥(김민선)까지 동대문파(일명 '재룡이파') 소속의 살모사에게 봉변을 당하자, 분노한 태웅은 그를 쫓아가 한방에 제압하고 그 길로 명동파 보스의 인정을 받는다. 이 일로 태웅은 건달 세계에 성공적으로 자리를 잡게 되지만, 자유당 정권의 몰락은 비호를 받던 동대문파뿐 아니라 라이벌인 명동파까지 역사의 뒤안으로 사라지게 만든다.
중간보스였던 오상필(김학준) 아래서 해결사 일을 하며 삶을 이어가게 된 태웅. 4.19 시위가 전국을 휩쓸 때도 전직 의원이 떼먹은 빚을 받으러 다니다가 데모대 속에서 대학생이 된 승문과 마주친다.
교편생활을 하던 혜옥과도 재회하고, 서로에 대한 사랑을 느낀 두 사람은 곧 결혼식을 올린다.

때마침 5.16 군사정권의 폭력 조직 일소에 따라 태웅도 건달 인생을 청산하고 영화제작업자로서 새 출발을 한다.

I only watch this movie because of Cho Seung Woo. I first saw him in Chunyang, he was young and thin at that time.

His acting is ok but this mafia movie is so dragging that it almost made me sleep.

it TOOK!! me 2!!! days to complete this movie! Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
i was really curious about this movie because the lead actor did so great in the "Classic", right? but, man, was this movie ever!! boring!!!! there's no other word to describe it!! i can't think of anything else to say about this movie!! well, i liked the korean history lessons, but was this movie a drag.

not your best work Im Kwon Taek... Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
First of all, do NOT i repeat do NOT expect alot...Im Kwon Taek has been obssessed with going to Cannes for his last 3,4 films that he has forgotten the core value....making a movie that counts... this movie truly is nothing special....true kim min sun and jo seung woo play their part inside out and kim min sun's delivery scene is quite beautiful but if you are looking for action, look somewhere else....looking for romance...look somewhere else...looking for comedy, sex, etc...look somewhere else
