Raaaaain's World
| I am a big fan of Bi and I have to say his 4th album is definitely my favorite. I'm usually not very happy with slow songs, but his are really sweet sounding and his dance songs are awesome, you can't help but bob your head to his beats. |

my 1'st Rain album! n_n
|
For so long, I've heard about the multi-talented Korean casnova but never looked into him for the fact that most Asian male artists have little or no talent, in my oppinion. Finally, I gave in and checked him out. He's extremely talented, surprisingly. His voice is very very great and so is his dancing even though he does do funny-looking moves sometimes. XD He's very addictive and now I see what everyone was talking about! =O It's made me want to buy everything he's released! XD I'm about to order 3 more things by him, speaking of which. Also, u NEEEEEEED to check into Lim Jeong Hee. She has such a beautiful voice! Hearing her (for the first time) on Cassiopeia made me want to order her albums too! ^_^ she's so good!! She's gonna have to wait though! =P I'm buying Rain stuff first! Hee-heeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! |

Worth Every Penny
Worth Every Penny

Even though I physically bought this album (from H-Mart), I'd have to say that this album is totally worth the wait if you order it. This has to be Bi(Rain)'s greatest album yet. The cd came with a cute lyrics/picture book. The pictures were awesome and all the songs were very catchy. The album was full of dance songs (I'm Coming, With You, Don't Stop, Not A Single Day, Him & Me, and Oh Yeah!) This album was amazing! PS Even though it was a little disappointing that right after I bought the album, a DVD (with MV's) included version came out... either version is worth it! |

Rain is Always Cool
|
I purchased Rain's Repackaged album a couple days ago. I am glad that I got it... along with the original 14 tracks that come on the regular edition, there are 4 added tracks that are really cool. On top of that, you get a DVD with the making of the videos, "The Bed I Laid In", and "I'm Coming", as well as the music videos for the songs. There are also 3 remixed songs and a live version of his song titled "I". The three remixed songs are "Bad Man", "With U", and a really cool techno version of "I'm Coming". All the remixes were very impressing, and I really was able to enjoy them right away... Initially, I bought this version of the album so that I could have his new videos on DVD, since I already have all his others, except for the Japanese ones which I want badly; but I ended up with 4 extra songs that I really like. Overall, I give this product a 9 out of 10. I have the original, but I also bought this one. Tip: If you have not purchased either versions (the original or the SE), then just buy this one. The only thing you will really miss out on are the pictures on the original. This one comes with a completely different set of pictures. Everything else is the same with the exception of the DVD and the 4 extra songs. Plus, it doesn't cost that much more than the original, if at all. Great Product. Worth every penny. |

Another Repetition From JYP
Another Repetition From JYP

When I heard Rain finally released his 4th album, I'm so relieved. It's nearly two years since It's Raining come out. You can say I'm a huge of Rain fan. He caught my attention first when I saw in Arirang his music video Bad Guy. I like his deep voice and I can feel his emotion in that song. I saw progress from the first, second to third album: voice, music/melody arrangement. His japanese album is also not bad. Unfortunately, his forth album is dissapointing. There's no new element in this album. I feel like it's just a cut and paste from his previous album by the produser, JYP. New add from JYP perhaps his copy work from western artist he produced like Will Smith, Tyrese, Omarin, Lil Jon. I'm quickly TURNED OFF by Mc shout in Rain's Coming "This is JYP production!". It's so narcisstic of JYP. Lame & very old skool... Two songs that I can still enjoy are the midtempo track # 5, Not A Single Day and his collaboration with AI, Oh Yeah! With the last song which there's some Japanese touch a bit (although JYP is still very much involved), I feel that Rain should move on to another producer to keep his work exciting. He also has to challange himself - taking to next level with his works - by perhaps writing lyrics, creating his own music, or producing. Especially he wants to cross over to english speaking music listeners like me... |

HE IS THE WORLD SINGER NOW!
HE IS THE WORLD SINGER NOW!

Absolutely, I didnt know who is RAIN before although The local TV Station in Jakarta has been playing some Korean Drama. I have already bought THE RAIN WORLD album in one of CD store in Yongsan Electronics Market in the beginning of November 2006. I was gambling for just to understand the local singer without any references about them. I really excited when I opened and heard of his song in this album. He has very perfect sound with good quality of English. The collaboration with Japanese was resulted the very perfect song. I already counted there were 7 songs that fit with my ears who mostly love JAZZ stream and going to be more adult in this year. Some of song in this album have a very tender and touch of humanist. I really have deep thought that RAIN will be the Great Icon not only in Korea or Japan, but also in our country (Indonesia) and the world. The reason is almost no great local RNB or soul singer in Indonesia except Shania, Dewi Sandra, and IWA K who has great soul but still with the old version of sound. The new local artist like Agnes Monica is just born to be popular with very limited voice talent. She is the worst of the worst Indonesian singer who has dream like Britney Spears. She has very bad English and trying to be RNB singer even her voice is just enough for the background of shop opera in the Television. She also has a bad attitude and social, arrogant personality, very lazy girl in campus, and with just copy the very common western style. My colleagues in label calls her as junk talent and even my big boss was rejected her to be one of brand speaker because she doesnt have a country code or even global identity by only acting as a copy cater of western artist. Indonesia are mostly love the characters of Dewi Sandra and Shania for the best voice of Soul and The DIVA (Titi DJ, KD, and RUTH SAHANAYA) for POP singer in Indonesia. They have the perfect voice, good talent with good attitude, global experiences with good English, and very dedicated person. RAIN is very different artist for me. He is very lovely artist with global mindset but still has Country Identity. He is a global artist now. He has just proven with this new album. He is the great and excellent singer. PART 3
PART 3
|
THE FINAL PART OF MY REVIEW!!! read it from my 1st post to this post....they arent in order, sorry! 10. Move On - A gorgeous ballad. This is my favorite ballad on the album. Perfect in every way. Nice piano tune balanced with that bit of hip-hop flavor...and...I hear bongos again!! Oh, I can never get enough of those...The chorus is really lovely. I like the touch of acoustic guitar as well...For a slow song, this still makes me want to groove...it has one of those beats that are still lightcore danceable. (I like making up terms for everything....like lightcore danceable...haha) This song also highlights Rain's smooth, powerful voice. I just love how perfect this tune is for his voice. It lets him stay in his vocal comfort zone I think better than the other ballads...I like hearing songs where he goes into his lower range...I know a lot in the song he goes high too...which sounds really good, but to meet it seems lower in general? I know that's not too favorable in pop music today, but I like his deep voice. 11. Oh Yeah (feat. AI) - This is another on of those songs I just want to dance to. I was surprised at first to hear this Japanese song on his Korean album, but it was refreshing...changing things up. AI's voice goes so well with Rain's. I love the low-end piano in this song...since the synth is rather high-pitched; it's balanced so well. I love after the bridge when they start stylizing the tune...They have really good vocal chemistry in this song. 12. Friends (feat. Tiger JK) - This is such a nice touching song! I love the piano in the beginning...I hear a touch of jazz! Just a touch! Nice song to change things up with. I thought the singing with the kids went a little overboard with whole "we're pulling on your heartstrings" thing. It's pretty cheesy, but a nice song nonetheless. I can't listen to this a lot though...I'm not a slow song kind gal...I love the rap that is put in this song. Tiger JK's voice...and that little strain he puts on the end of his sentences...very reggae-ish? Anyway, it's an interesting touch that works very well with the song. Any song that can mix jazziness, hip-hop, pop ballad, singing children and a reggae rap is fine by me. 13. To My Friends - This is instrumental, but it really does well at bringing the album to a close, basically a twist on track 12's tune. 14. I (B-Garage Remix) - eh...I guess this is sort of the bonus track of the album. This song is ok, but I would love to hear the vocals more pumped up. The beat overpowers the vocals way too much. I prefer the original of this song, but if the vocals were loud enough to have the power they had in the original, this song would have been 10x better. I love the break beat and scratching that happens before the bridge though....that part's hot. The beat itself is unique...but I find that this song went a bit unreasonable with the almost inaudible vocals... Basically, this is an awesome album, and truly shows off the diversity in Rain's talent's, as well as the genius of his producer, JYP, and every member of the production team. This album is solid; no complaints buying it! I hope someone appreciates my painstakingly long review...with some very horrible attempts at humor...^_^' |
