　　本片為羅臻導演，林村編劇，鮑學禮攝影，王福齡配樂，凌波主演。故事描述，文瑛（凌波）的丈夫林修明（高遠）及其友陶惠康（王俠），均與肚皮舞女郎莎莎（孟莉）有染，莎藉此勒索二人；後莎被殺，林成嫌疑犯，另一方面，莎之兄大剛，亦向林勒索，而文在家，也接見了馬飛（谷峰），他聲言有為林洗罪的證據，但要索錢；陶太太（李香君）借貸給文，認為以財消災不媿上策；隨後，大剛也出現文家，要錢不遂，竟動殺念……究竟誰是殺莎真兇？

　　Lo Chen, the maker of such elegant romances as Shepherd Girl and The Joy Of Spring, takes a hard right turn into hard-boiled mystery. Ivy Ling Po, star of The Love Eterne as well as A Cause To Kill, plays the dedicated wife of a man being blackmailed for an illicit love affair, who uncovers a pit of deceit, double-crosses, extortion and murder after murder.

Thrilling tale of suspense Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
What a treat it was to stumble upon this suspenseful little cinematic gem. In "Raw Passions", sexy bellydancer SaSa (Meng Li) is stirring up problems for her old flame Lin Sau Ming (Gao Yuan) at the same time she is carrying on an affair with his friend Tao Wai Kong (Wong Hap). Sau Ming's wife Man Ying (Ling Po) becomes concerned about whether she can trust the man she married three months ago. And Wai Kong's wife Ai Jun (Li Hsiang Chun) seems oblivious to her husband's adultery. Then SaSa turns up dead, Sau Ming -- who was spotted near the scene of the crime -- becomes the primary suspect of the police, and two different blackmailers begin demanding cash from Sau Ming and Man Ying.

"Raw Passions" weaves a tense and tangled web and keeps the viewer on the edge of his seat by effectively disguising the identity of the killer until the film's end. The movie works beautifully on many different levels; it looks great, has a crisply-written, believable script, the film's ensemble cast deliver terrific performances, and we even are treated to two wonderful Mona Fong songs. Bravo to Shaw Brothers and to director Lo Chen for this timeless classic.

What An Exciting Asian Hitchcock Thriller Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I am so proud to watch this thriller produced by Shaw Bros. The script was well written and kept me guessing for the murderer till the end! The actors & actresses portrayed their parts very well. Ivy Ling Po looked stunning with all the attires and as usual portrayed her role excellently. I am normally an ardent fan of British thriller and I must say this is as good as one of theirs. Well done, Shaw Brothers!

Classic Taut Thriller Still Delivers The Goosebump Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
It has been 36 years since I caught this little gem at the local cinemas. Now Celestial has remastered it so brilliantly the colours just sparkle as if it was shot yesterday. Meng Li's daring scenes were censored back then but now her charms are on ample display. Ivy Ling Po is simply wonderful as the wife not only in her nuanced acting but also in the way she looks dressed to the nines in beautiful evening gowns.You forget that Ivy is a skilled male impersonator in huangmei musicals. Her acting is that effective. Grab this dvd now!
