Shot on location in Shanghai, the 1994 TVB drama Remembrance managed to capture the spirit of the classic The Bund series. Ace producer Lee Kwok Lap (Chinese Paladin, Fate of the Clairvoyant) cast singer/actor Julian Cheung, at the very peak of his fame, in the lead role as an orphan struggling to make his name in the dangerous world of gangs. The theme song was made popular by Julian, too.

In 1930s Shanghai, the paradise for adventurers, sworn brothers Yam Hung Fei (Julian Cheung) and Lung Ng (David Shiu) have depended on each other for survival since their orphaned childhood. Dreaming of power and fortune, they work as hired killers and soon begin to rise up the ranks in the triad world. Meanwhile, Fei and Ng meet Shum Nam Sing (Kenix Kwok), Tung Yuet Pak (Jessica Chau) and Ching Yeung (Betsy Cheung) and they can't help falling into a complicated web of romances, which gives Fei and Ng's brotherhood a stern test...

其間更加插任鴻飛與兩個至愛女人沈南星(郭可盈)、童月白(鄒靜)及龍五與清陽(張鳳妮)的一段愛恨交織的感情經歷，及其後兩人及目成仇，恩怨兩難的矛盾關係。為求迫真，該劇更耗資龐大製作遠赴上海實地取景拍攝，務求送給觀眾另一部誠誠意之作。
