Rich Vol.4 - A Moment Before Insanity is an autobiographical album, providing insights into Rich's personal life since the release of his third album three years ago. Rich brings with him a new higher standard, stretching far beyond his proven reputation as a talented R&B vocalist. In his fourth album, interestingly titled Rich Vol.4 - A Moment Before Insanity, he takes on a more challenging role as a singer/songwriter. Rich achieved a new level by not only writing and composing, but also handling technical aspects of the production process, including the recording and mixing for most of the songs on Vol. 4.

EJ's Number (Track 2) takes off with a powerful drum session followed by equally sensational guitar and keyboard. The combination of a real band with an occasional sexy female chorus gives the sound an addictive and bewitching charm. EJ's Number is Rich's personal account of his past relationship with a girl named EJ. Other tracks include "The Pygmalion Effect" (Track 1), a fast-paced dance number featuring MC Sniper as the guest vocalist; "A Pizza That Cannot Be Thrown" (Track 3), a sentimental pop ballad; and "Congratulations On The 100th Anniversary" (Track 11), a ballad accentuating Rich's trademark R&B style vocals.

이번 앨범은 총 13곡이 들어가 있으며 타이틀 곡 [EJ'`s number] 는 강렬한 드럼 연주로 시작하여 기타, 베이스, 키보드 등과 함께 더욱 풍성한 사운드를 들려준다. 뮤지션은 기타 이근형, 베이스 신현권이 참여하여 높은 완성도를 보여주고 있으며 또한 타이틀 곡 [EJ'`s number] 의 경우, RICH 본인의 실제 겪었던 이야기를 토대로 사랑했던 EJ를 떠나 보내는 심정을 담았다. 또한 앨범 첫 곡인 [피그말리온 효과]는 "MC스나이퍼"가 피쳐링하였으며 한 비트의 몽환적인 [BUTTERFLY],[사랑해 이말 밖에 Pt.2], 감성적인 멜로디 라인이 돋보이는 팝 발라드 [던질 수 없는 피자], [AUTO BOY], [100일 된 연인들을 위한 노래],[100일을 축하해] 등이 실려있다. 토니 안의 [MELODY], MC몽 의 [I LOVE U THANK U] 등을 작사한 EZ-LIFE에 이상백, MC스나이퍼, MUZIE등이 참여해 이번 앨범 완성도에 심혈을 기울였다. 이번 음반은 3년 동안에 있었던 RICH의 실제 이야기를 토대로 만들었으며 기존 R&B를 기본으로 소울, 힙합 형식의 강한 비트의 곡들이 실려있어 싱어송라이터로 자신의 음악적 재능과 역량을 아낌없이 발휘하였다.
