A remake of a classic
| An updated version of the R&H classic Cinderella under the direction of Whitney Houston. What's good? The music is mostly the same but with rearrangements to suit current audiences. R&B bass beats really breathe new life into the songs that you may know from the original version without destroying the original intent of the score. New music pieces are added to narrate and end the movie which might either entertain or displease fans. Acting wise, Bernadette Peters was a wise choice for the stepmother for her sarcasm and wit whilst Whoopi Goldberg played an interesting take on the Queen. Don't expect to compare with the Julie Andrews classic and you might come off pretty well entertained with the music, choreography and sets used in this unusually lavish TV presentation. The original will remain the best in the fan's hearts but this version provide more fun (esp for kids) than the Warren version. |
