YesAsia Editorial Description

Starring Kim Rae Won, Jung Da Bin, Choi Yoon Jin and Lee Hyun Woo, romantic comedy Rooftop Room Cat not only achieved outstanding prime-time viewership numbers in 2003, but also drummed up considerable buzz about co-habitation before marriage in Korea. Apathetic law student Kyung Min (Kim Rae Won) and optimistic Jeong Eun (Jung Da Bin) share a little rooftop room together in big city Seoul. The two are constantly arguing over every little thing, but they have to put up with the rooming situation in order to save money. Over time, however, the fighting turns into something more. While both Kyung Min and Jeong Eun are in relationships, the seed of jealousy and the unspoken love between the young couple begin to grow.

This hit comedy now comes with English and Chinese subtitles. The DVD boxset comes with story and character introduction plus episode synopses.

In the modern age, living together with the opposite sex before marriage seems to be a common story to tell. But is it a bitter or sweet experience for young couples?

Like a cat that charms its master and disappears without notice, the TV series "Rooftop Room Cat" raises the questions and leaves the answers to the audience. Offering a light comic touch and reflecting contemporary attitudes towards love and relationships, this original internet novel by Kim Yu-Ri has gained wide popularity with audiences in their 20's and 30's.

The story revolves around Jung-Eun (Jung Da-Bin), a charming independent girl who shares her small rooftop room with a guy named Kyung-Min (Kim Rae-Won) due to economic difficulties. Their lives are put to a hard test after Jung-Eun starts falling in love with Kyung-Min...

repetitive Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
Putting aside the popular cliches of Korean dramas, this series is just horrendously repetitive. He takes her for granted, she feels bad, he says sorry, she's happy again. This process is fine, but it occurs about a dozen times throughout the series. Jae Won's character does everything from treating Jung Da Bin's like a slave to using her to make another girl jealous, yet she clings to him. What is worse is that I see absolutely no reason why Jung Da Bin's character is so in love with Kim Jae Won's, other than the fact he is handsome. The show does have its charming and funny moments, but definitely not enough to make me sit through even the first episode again.

You still live, Da-Bin! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
A cute story based on an internet novel. The chemistry between Da-Bin and Rae-Won is fantastic - perfect casting. Interesting story and music with some strong performances. Although I was not 100% crazy about the ending, everything else still lifts 'Oktapbang' high above most other dramas. Jung Da-Bin completely 'makes' this drama. We will greatly miss her.

Boorrring Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
The drama was unbelievably boring and predictable. It has the same type of conflict reoccurring over and over again, but with different people involved. The acting wasn't that "great" either! I thought that this drama was terrible!
