マイケル（ジェイソン・パトリック）とサム（コリー・ハイム）の兄弟は、離婚した母と共にサンタ・カーラにある祖父の家に引っ越した。サンタ・カーラは一見平和な海辺の町だが、行方不明者が続出していた。サムは漫画雑誌屋でエドガー（コリー・フェルドマン）らに何故か吸血鬼の漫画を読むように勧められる。一方、マイケルはデビッド（キーファー・サザーランド）率いるパンクグループの仲間に入り、勧められた酒を飲む。翌日目を覚ましたマイケルは、自分が吸血鬼になり始めていることに気付くのだが…。
