Director Wong Jing and star Stephen Chow team up for Royal Tramp, the first of two films adapting - and skewering - the famous Jin Yong (AKA Louis Cha) novel The Duke of Mt. Deer. Stephen Chow stars as Wai Siu Bo, a tricky layabout who chances into an affiliation with the Heaven and Earth Society, an underground group led by hero Chang Chin Nam (Damian Lau). Bo is assigned to infiltrate the Emperor's court to steal the "42 Chapter Classic", a martial arts tome which will help overthrow the Ching Dynasty and restore the Ming Dynasty. But first, Bo must engage in wall-to-wall shenanigans, including pretending to be a eunuch, sleeping with the Emperor's sister, and generally demonstrating his superiority over the witless individuals around him. Stephen Chow is at the top of his game, and ably demonstrates the comedy talent that made him the most popular Hong Kong actor of the nineties! With fluid, finely choreographed action sequences from Ching Siu Tung, and a cast of big Hong Kong names, including Elvis Tsui, Sandra Ng, Nat Chan Bak Cheung, Richard Ng Man Tat, and Fennie Yuen, Royal Tramp proves to be a hilarious send-up of Hong Kong's popular wuxia genre! Followed by the direct sequel, Royal Tramp II.

I wasn't very sure about this movie at first. I heard all Stephen Chow's movies are funny, so I thought I give this one a try. It was funny!!! I love it!!!
