It's refreshing to watch a concert that focuses on music through the collaboration of top notch musicians to the musical rearrangements led by acclaimed Anthony Lun. I especially enjoyed tracks 7 & 9 where Sandy's live performance rivals the studio versions. The images projected onto the backdrop to compliment each song were breath taking [my favorite was projected for track 20]. Although it's tempting to just pop in the first disc to begin watching the concert, I think you'll get more out of it if you watch the documentary disc first b/c it provides some background to the musicians who are "celebs" in their own right and also provide some insight to Sandy's thought process and concept for this concert.
My only negative remark about the DVD is that although it's shot in HD, the post production team decided to add back the noise for artistic effect which in mind, defeats the purpose of shooting it in HD.
But overall, I really admire Sandy for going against the norm to stage this type of concert where many of the songs are side tracks and ballad heavy. I don't know of many artists, local and international, who can stage a concert from side tracks and still manage to perform to a sell out crowd.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
