Hana yori Dango Box (DVD) (TV Series) (Japan Version) DVD Region 2
(9)Our Price: US$223.75Usually ships within 7 - 14 daysJune 21, 2006 All-Time FavoritesI was excited/scared about this live-action version of "Hana Yori Dango", because I saw "Meteor Garden" and basically.... the story was completely mutilated and no offense to fervent supporters of F4 but none of those boys can act. Although I do think that Matsumoto Jun was a TAD short for being Doumyouji, he did a great job as the lead male, and Inoue Mao was so cute as Tsukushi! The entire series was so entertaining I pretty much finished it in one day. Unfortunately it was a bit short.... but I liked the ending a LOT better than the ending in Meteor Garden (completely anticlimatic ending) and although neither of those endings could top the finale of the anime or the manga, I would say that if I had the time, I would watch this series over again. It is THAT good. I don't even like chick flicks but the acting and story are amazing in this series. The F4 boys wear nice clothes, too. This one's a classic. Did you find this review helpful? I Want Happiness? (Special Edition) (CD+DVD)

May 30, 2006 A-mei's amazing voiceI never really listened to A-Mei's music, but my mom always talked about her amazing voice, and when we found out that she was coming to Las Vegas for her 2006 world tour, my mom decided to go, even though we hadn't heard much of her music. She ... sang for an amazing 3 hours! And afterwards I was glad I bought one of the autographed CDs they were selling, and even though a lot of "young" people don't really listen to A-Mei, she is one of the few Taiwanese singers that truly has an amazing voice that almost nobody can top, and with this album she proves that she can pretty much sing anything and sound great. After listening to A-Mei, everyone else seems just average. This is a great CD and definitely shouldn't be missed if you want to listen to one of the best Taiwan has to offer :) Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Ayumi Hamasaki Songs Meet Princess China Music Orchestra

August 23, 2005 A Grand SurpriseI usually don't listen to instrumentals, and I wasn't exactly excited upon discovering that a Chinese orchestra was covering Ayu songs, but when I actually listened to some of the songs, they were amazingly well done! There is an interesting, traditional Chinese twist on these Ayu songs and I think the orchestra did a great job in mixing Ayu's catchy tunes and utilizing traditional Chinese instruments. Overall I was extremely pleased with the result, and definitely worth listening to if you're a big Ayu fan, or if you just want to hear some actually good Chinese covers of Japanese songs. Tsuki ni shizumu (Japan Version)
March 18, 2003 Not bad for a first attempt, but...I actually bought this DVD when it came out but didn't watch it until last week; I have to admit that though I am a big Ayu fan, I was... disappointed with the movie. It was too long and too short. Unneeded scenes [the scenes w/ the moon were WAY too repetitive] and a lack of information [how did kagari and shoushin meet, exactly?!] made me lose interest in the film about half-way through. There is also very little dialogue, and what dialogue there is isn't really important either. The "Voyage" promotional video was much better compared to the full version "Tsuki ni shizumu", and if you can't understand Japanese, I strongly suggest you just stick to watching the promo. video, because I doubt you'll be able to really sit through the full version. February 27, 2003 Music of a different wave
Psycho le Cemu may be jrock [Japanese rock], but their costume style is widely unique, not of visual kei, yet not of normal rock either. Their music sometimes isn't all hard rock, and sometimes their songs have a big of a dance-able beat. "Ai no uta" was a great debut song for them, with some fantastic guitar solos from Lida, slick bass playing from seek, powerful drumming from YURA-sama, smooth vocals from DAISHI, and the song was written by AYA [who looks female, but is probably the one behind all the song-writing]. At first I thought Psycho le Cemu was "funky" and "weird", but their music is very addicting and unique, plus, the free DVD on the first press edition of this single features a great video of "Prism", something that shouldn't be missed! February 27, 2003 D-A-I is back with a new sound!
I wasn't really sure what to expect when I first ordered the CD, hearing "under the moon" and "Shinjitsu no uta", I thought that D-A-I was focusing on more ballad-style songs. However, I got back into D-A-I after listening to this CD. The title track is strikingly beautiful, "Kusou ryodan", as well as the other more mellow tunes, "sense of life", "wadachi -WADACHI-" and "I can't be myself". I was very pleased overall with their more upbeat songs, "One or Eight" [which was on the "Shinjitsu.." single], and enjoyed "Grateful Journey" and "Good for you" very much; it was difficult not singing along w/ Van in the choruses of those songs. The last track, "Ai no uta" brings a nice close to the CD, and it is yet another upbeat song, but excellent as well. The secret track is in fact the 3rd Anniversary Live version of "Tooku made", which is enjoyable as well. I felt that D-A-I had sort of went downhill with their songs after "DEEP FOREST", but "TRUE SONG" was much more upbeat, and I think that anyone who hasn't heard much of Japanese music should definitely give this CD a try. DRAIN AWAY (Japan Version)
January 26, 2003 A Change from Child Prey and six Ugly....At first I thought this song was way too unlike Dir en grey's style of hard, pounding rock and Kyo's screaming vocals. The title song, "DRAIN AWAY" seemed more pop/mainstream, as though they were trying to appeal to more listeners, or something along that line. However, the song isn't really that bad, even though I think some Dir en grey fans may be a bit disappointed with this single. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
