From SEGA comes Sangokushi Taisen DS, a turn-based strategy game set in China's famed Three Kingdoms era. Sangokushi Taisen was originally a popular and unique arcade game where players place real collectible cards on a card reader to direct troops and execute strategy, the goal being to conquer the opponent's castle. The game was a bit hit in Japan, with over one million collectible cards being sold, and 500,000 users registering to play. The DS version uses the DS touchscreen to replicate the cards and card reader, mimicking the arcade experience as much as possible, with high-quality graphic images taking the place of the beautifully drawn collectible cards. Players can take part in a single player campaign versus the computer, but thanks to the DS's wi-fi connectivity, multiplayer is possible too.
