I've just recently got into FT Island after seeing Lee Hongki act in the recent korean drama 'Minami Shineyo/You're Beautiful.' I wanted to know more about him and found out that he is an AMAZING singer. His voice really captivated me and it's so strong for his age and he was even younger when he recorded this album!
Sarang Hooae (After Love) and Yoja neun Molla (Girl's Don't Know) were the released singles for this album and both are really good. FT Island tends to make sorrowful love songs and though people find love songs 'typical', they do it SO well for such a young group. I really don't think it's fair to really call them just another 'idol group'. ^^
I must say that I really enjoyed this album (9/10) Tracks 1, 2, 6, 7, and 8 are my favorites.
Track 8 - Sarang Hajimayo (Don't Love) is the most memorable track to me. The lyrics are heart wrenching and Lee Hong Ki's passion truly shines in this track. The piano is SO saddening as it mixes with strings. This song will bring tears to many and I must say that this is a song that once it plays, I can't help to put it on repeat. Even Lee Hongki cried on stage while singing this during a concert. This is a song that I won't be able to let go of. The meaning is so true: "Don't love, heartbreak will always come. It hurts so much that you can't breath. I thought I'd only hurt as much as I loved you... that it'd be okay and I could forget. But no, it hurts a thousand times more..."
Overall, this is an amazing album for FT Island during 2008.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

October 29, 2009 She's back and better than ever!Though I was never a major Ivy fan, I must admit that this album deserves some attention. Ivy is back under a new management company, but her own personal touch (sound) still remains. Her vocals are stronger than ever, making the ballad pieces much more sensational and the dance tracks more hype. Her classic 'Ivy' sound is still there. (A good example is 'You Are The Ace (feat. JR Groove)'. The beat is close to the genre used in past tracks like 'Poison Ivy' and 'Dawn Dawn Dawn'.)
'Touch Me' is the single release that really advertises the wild side of the album, but there's also a more gentler part of the album. I love how this albm contains alot of tracks outside of the current trend of releasing mini albums. There is so much to listen to and it all reveals how much Ivy has progressed during her hiatus. Ivy shows a softer side through tracks such as 'Andwaeyo' and 'Eochapi Ijeoya Hal Saram' and exposes a techno side through 'Left 2 Right', 'Peek-A-Boo', and so many more.
However, out of all the tracks, 'Zoo' is the song that stuck out the most to me. It's slower with techtonic vocals and Gilme adds a bit of rap to the mix. The piano melody is beautiful and Ivy's soprano voice is beautiful in this track. I can't seem to take this off of repeat. I personally recommend this song.
Overall, I can't seem to stop expressing how powerful this album is. This is definitely an album worth exploring. Be ready to dance the night away! ^_^Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

(2)Our Price: US$17.99List: US$25.99Save: US$8.00 (31%)Usually ships within 1 to 2 daysOctober 25, 2009 WowOnce again, Epik High surprises me with their packaging. When I first took off the plastic wrapping, my immediate thought was "did I order a mini planner by mistake?" lol. The cd case is in the shape of a mini binder. No plastic is used, when you open the case, the CD's are in 2 thick paper slots on the left side and on the right side is the book. This book has ALOT of content from lyrics to interviews. I personally love the artistic work and the quote art near the end of the book.
When it comes to the music, I LOVE it. It has the type of musical division set-up like Vol. 4 Remapping the Human Soul album (check out my review to see what I mean).
CD 1 [e]motion is just that. The music is more soft and delivers a more serious message while CD 2 [e]nergey is just. It contains more hype songs that make you want to dance. Think Melancholy vs. Extreme Hyper-Tabloness, lol.
For Epik High fans, this is a really nice treat from the packaging to the music. If you liked their mini-album Lovescream, then just think of this album as an extention of that.
PS I personally think this album is worth its price and even more than it's being sold for. The case material is REALLY nice. o.oDid you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

October 25, 2009 CreativeI agree strongly with the review S. left on this single. The songs certainly have a soulful quality outside of the current trend, but I'd expect no less from our Soulmate duo. ^^
When it comes to the album art, I must says that it's really nice. Instead of paged booklets, they come with a simple 3 folded booklet that contains the lyrics and 3 pictures (Jejung and Yuchun together and then the individual shots). I simply love the photography of this single. ^_^
'COLORS~Melody and Harmony~ (5:20)' seems to have come out at exactly the right time. With so much despute going on, this is just the right uplifting song we fans need to calm our weary hearts. The message behind the song is obvious and rightfully so. You don't have to dig deep to feel its love.
'Shelter (5:43)' is simply amazing. Despite the amusing Yoochun-lish raps, the composition is really well thought out. I find myself even listening to the Less Vocal version a lot. This song is also a bit straightforeward in its message and so far, listeners can't seem to get enough (and I'm one of them). The mix of rain, piano, cello and chimes is nice and theit vocals are a bit light in the sense that you'd think it'd echo. Also, the rap goes well with the flow of the song which is rare in such ballad-like songs. Also, Jejung and Yuchun's vocals near the peak of the song are simply amazing (at about 3:47). The vocals are so strong.
Overall, this is an outstanding single in terms of composition, creativity and vocal strength. Jejung and Yuchun are very talented muscians and I'm looking foreward to more of their compositions in the future. 10/10 ^_^Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

SHINee Mini Album Vol. 3 - 2009, Year Of Us
(6)Our Price: US$9.99List: US$14.99Save: US$5.00 (33%)Usually ships within 7 daysOctober 19, 2009 Very Creative... Daring even!Once again, K-Pop is going through a transitional phase where all the boy groups are making a comeback. New groups are debuting and older groups are coming back, yet SHINee tends to stand out the brightest.
I must say that this Mini Album is VERY different. I don't think anyone has heard this part of SHINee, but I find it very charming. The very first song 'Y.O.U' threw me completely off. It has a REAL oldstyle a cappella/R&B style. The procession of 'You~' throughout the song is very charming and I immediately LOVED this track. 5/5
Ring Ding Dong is the title song and I'm sure everyone's heard it. It has an Afro-tectonic feel. The constant African drum beat makes you want to dance and the dance beat smoothes the harsh drum sounds over. If you haven't seen the PV, I say see it NOW! lol The boys look amazing and their dancing is very skilled with such a strong beat. 5/5
'Jo Jo' was another shocker song that I eventually fell for. It has an techtonic/maybe even Christmas feel, lol. (None of the songs really sound like a song of this century, all have a oldies feel.) 4/5
'Get Down'... is crazy. o.o Its like oldschool rap and Minho and Key really shine in this track. This is not my favorite track but its creativeness is daring. 3/5 'SHINee Girl' is fun with a jive mixed with techno sound. the chorus makes you want to do the quickstep. ^^ 4/5
Finally, Onew's solo 'Naega Sarang Haedeon Ireum' is amazing. His voice mixed with Kim Yeon Woo is a real treat. It's like a ballad and once the chorus hits, you get sucked it. This track is really beautiful. 5/5
Overall, I give this Mini Album a 9/10. Good Job SHINee! This is definitely your year! ^_^Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

October 10, 2009 AmazingWheesung is one of those artists that I truly look foreward to hearing. Everytime he comes out with a new album, my whole being just longs for his voice and what style he's tried next.
Boy. let me tell you, this album is amazing. Vocolate indeed.
If you fell in love with his last mini album With All My Heart and Soul, then you will LOVE this.
Tracks 1, 5, 9, 10 are really upbeat tracks that make you want to get up and move. (especially 9 &10)
Track 3 is a track where he uses his personal singing technique where it almost feels like he's yodelling, but I LOVE it. ^^ It's one of those traits where if I heard the song, I'd immediately know it was Wheesung. I also love how he includes obvious asian vibes and sounds with his R&B in Tracks 3 & 4.
Tracks 2, 6 are LOVELY ballad-like songs.
Tracks 7 & 8 are nice R&B pieces that a nice thumping bass with a nice backbeat.
Track 11 is BEAUTIFUL. The piano and cello go so well and his soft vocals almost brought tears to my eyes. I love when Wheesung sings in soft tones and uses his vibrato voices... It really brings out the feelings in the song. (It's similar to how he sings Narak from the mini album, another track I adore). Not many artist can pull this off successfully and I feel Wheesung really knows 'when' to sing this way and when it's too much.
My only issue is that I wish Insomnia was included on this album. T.TDid you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

October 10, 2009 It's been 4 years...This concert is OVER 3 hours long... (Disc 1- 118min, Disc 2- 78 min) (not counting the extra footage (39 min). If you estimate $20 per hour, this concert DVD is definitely worth its buck, but for a Tohoshinki fan, the cost shouldn't matter because this is one heck of a concert. Just when you think the encore will begin soon, there's MORE and MORE performances.
This concert is nothing but sheer excellence and really shows how Tohoshinki has come such a long way through their 4 years in japan. To perform at Tokyo Dome was their dream and, let me tell you, they performed it to the fullest. Just try walking a mile in their shoes. ^^
It begins with a bang and the energy never leaves the boys despite the long, rigorous dances, and hours of singing. Also, the solo performances are a real treat for those who didn't get to experience the orginal korean versions of Yunho and Junsu's solos from the Mirotic Tour.
Also, I don't know how to explain it, but it feels like the boys have perfected all of their ballads in this concert. They were SO insync, it was a bit eery. I could find almost no slip ups and there seemed to be a real connection in this concert... maybe this is the power of an artist finally performing in Tokyo Dome? ^_^ It felt like they were one... like totally fulfilled and satisfied...
Overall, I'm extremely proud to be an owner of this DVD. This concert truly means a lot... they've come such a long way...
PS.. The Bolero performance is definitely amazing... Seriously, it was the MOST heartfelt performance... to the point where Yoochun's passion was a bit too much during his high part and Changmin had to help him out with the note and kept looking back at him. *check the panel/screens of their faces during Yoochun's high part* Seriously, their teamwork is amazing...Did you find this review helpful? (1)Our Price: US$23.99Usually ships within 1 to 2 daysOctober 6, 2009 Nice.I must say that this is a really nice tribute album. O_O While I was mainly buying this for the 'been so long' remake by Jejung and Yuchun of Tohoshinki (which is AMAZING by the way ^_^), I was introduced to many new artists on here with amazing voices. If you buy this because you're a m-flo fan, you won't be disappointed in the artists chosen to represent his work. The most notable artists are:
Nishino Kana - she sings the remake of 'Yours only' and does a beautiful job. She's young (born in 1989) and has a youthful side to her voice like most young japanese artist, but there's something soothing about her voice instead squeaky high pitched like what I'm used to. 5/5
Shota Shimizu - he sings the remake of 'let go'. He's another youngster (born in 1989). He has an amazing R&B voice that has a slight gospel side. This is another song I had on repeat along with Nishino Kana's song. I really love this song. ^^ 5/5
Misono - although she's not new to the music scene, many fans were kind of disappointed with her solo song on the koda kumi x misono single. However, like I said in that review, I think she just needed a song that fit her voice. Well, this song really makes up for it. I really love her voice with this song 'Simple & Lovely' and I feel that it really suits her. 5/5
Marie - sings 'come back to me' and does a good job. She has monotone voice the goes perfect with the low beat of the song. 4.5/5
The only part of the album I didn't care for was the YU-A remake of The Love Bug. I like BoA's version better... or it could be that I'm just too used to BoA's voice in this song that it feels like the song is messed up.
Overall, I really recommend this remake album. ^^Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

September 29, 2009 I think I'm the only one...Am I the only one who's disappointed with this mini album? O.o
I have nothing against SuJu and I've been a fan of theirs since their debut, but once again their music has disappointed me. The only album I've been impressed with by them was the Sorry, Sorry album and I feel like they've gone back to their old way of music. Don't get me wrong, they CAN sing, it's just that the style of music they sing sometimes doesn't fit my tastes. Just when I thought a change was coming along, it goes back to how it was in the past.
Super Girl is really the only track I liked and I still give it a 4/5, but NONE of the other tracks caught my attention in the least. However, for Suju fans who liked their past albums, this will be a treat for you.
PS The Super Girl PV is awesome, so don't forget that this will most likely be repackaged with a DVD of the PV and making, so SJ fans, save some bucks for that. ^^

September 29, 2009 hm...I bought this in American stores (Barnes & Nobles) for the same price here in order to make it count on the Billboard charts. I had to show BoA some support. ^_^
Overall, I bought this for the repacking photography and the extra tracks.
The extra tracks are EXCELLENT, my favorite being Control. This is a track I feel was well developed and I think BoA should have just used this track for the new PV instread of the repetitive track Energetic. This would sound good live and I can already see a dance routine to this.
Crazy About is another good track that has a nice bounce to it. It feels like a club song to bounce to. ^^ I can see this being remixed soon. ^^
The Radio Version of Energetic is the same as the original except for the fact that there's an interlude near the end... But I like the track.
The real reason I gave this an 8/10 is because I was disappointed with the booklet. Usually in repackaged albums, either the CD case is different (different material or something special), there are more photos, or there's a DVD attached. I didn't really expect a DVD attachment because US albums don't really do that. However, I did expect more PHOTOS in the book. There's a total of 3 photos... (the cover, the back cover, and 1 inside picture which looks like the back cover in reverse.) When it comes to SM Entertainment, I expected something more...
BUT for those who haven't bought the original album, this is an awesome chance to get more for your buck with the extra tracks. Support BoA if you haven't already. ^^Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

Tsuki no Uta (Japan Version)
September 28, 2009 2nd favoriteAfter 'Secret Garden' this has got to be my second all time favorite Gackt song.
'Tsuki no Uta' (meaning Song of the Moon) is another heart wrenching ballad that really caught me immediately. I heard this song in the full album, not in the anime its featured in. Also, I love how this song is made of mostly acoustics (a slightly different style for Gackt). ^^
'Hoshi no Suna' is another favorite that is a typically Gackt ballad where he simply sings while playing the piano. The softness of the song is really the opposite of Gackt's usual loud singing. It really feels like Gackt is showing his feelings through this and sometimes it feels like he's trying to whisper or not cry. I really would like to see footage of him singing this. It feels so soft yet passionate... I don't know how to desribe the feeling.
Overall, this is one of those singles where I 'LOVED' both tracks. These two songs are tops on my iTune play count. It really soothes me. ^_^Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

September 28, 2009 Best artist introduction
Out of all the artists I've listened to over the years, none have made me an immediate fan. I've had to get used to their music and later decide. When I first heard Gackt, I immediately fell hard. There was no thinking, I immediately loved his voice and style. I heard this in 2000 (though it was released summer 1999).
This is considered Gackt's first album, and though it contains only 4 songs, it is worth the money.
Mizerable is an amazing mix of rock and violin. Gackt is the first artist I ever felt mixed strings with rock skillfully and artistically. I was a violinist for 5 years when I was a child and Gackt was one of my key influences to keep playing. ^^ 5/5
Story is a lovely ballad-like piece by Gackt. The piano really soothes the ears and this track really shows off his classical side. Since he can play the piano extremely well, this song really felt like a peek into his musical feelings. 5/5
Leeca is another ballad-like piece but this time you only hear the piano and Gackt's voice. It really feels like a live performance. It makes the listener feel like they are in an audience and must be quiet till the performance ends. 5/5
Lapis ~Prologue~ is a very sad, almost heart-wrenching piece to the ears. This one is a pure mix of piano and violin. I really wish I had the sheet music to this piece. The melody seems simple, yet really gets the message across. The lyrics are very deep.
The translation: 'Even though the dream hurts me, I don't change anything. I opened a new door and continue into the expanding world. I could embrace this body until it hurts. I could hurt myself in order to become just a little bit stronger...I just keep walking on the endless road'
Overall, this song really deserves a 5/5
This album is amazing and I feel any Gackt fan should definitely have this in their collection. ^_^Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

Secret Garden (Japan Version)
September 24, 2009 All time favoriteThis is and probably will always be my all time favorite song by Gackt. Ever since its release, it's never left my iPod and it's a song I can leave on repeat. The song itself is beautiful and it's musical stucture is interesting.
Also, not to mention Gackt's voices seem stronger than ever on this track. This was his single in 2000, near the beginning of his career, and I feel that this was an excellent song to make. It really shows of Gackt's vocal strength. I really is heartwrenching to listen to because it feels as if the singer has lost something important and it pleaing with the world for forgiveness. It really gives an amazing feeling. Also, the translation is really deep and interesting. Gives off a true poetic feeling...
For new Gackt fans, I truly recommend this song as a introduction to his world.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

(1)Our Price: US$15.25Usually ships within 7 daysSeptember 24, 2009 Very masterfulBesides my love for all of his music, I must really commend Gackt for the lyrics of Returner. I found them so touching and well thought out. Also, it was excellently composed and I find myself relistening to the backtrack trying to figure out the music organization (I play music ^^).
As for the other tracks, the live version of 'birdcage' is simply gorgeous, if not moreso than the album version. Overall, I love the artistic features of this single and the classic feel. Though 'birdcage' and 'cube' are past tracks, they truly feel new and reborn in this single. Though the overall concept is a little to goth for my taste, don't let it discourage you and give the song a spin.
This single is a masterpiece.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Flower (Japan Version)
September 24, 2009 NiceAnother nice anniversary single. Though 'Flower' is a single everyone knows, what really caught my attention was 'In Flames.'
The first time I heard this song was during the live broadcast of 'Requiem Et Reminiscence II' concert. Being a longtime Gackt fan, the song never 'truly' caught my attention until I saw it performed. It was one of the most breathtaking performances and after that this song has never left my iPod. I personally don't understand how I could have possibly overlooked this song...
The album work on this single is also gorgeous (like the 'Lost Angels' single). I love the overall natural yet unnatural beauty. Overall, I recommend this single for Gackkt fans. ^_^Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

September 22, 2009 He's back!Taegoon has done it again! Another really nice mini album. I must admit that I was a little weary when he debuted in the beginning, but each single he's released has caught my interest and he just keeps getting better. I think he's a little underrated and deserves a bit more attention. Each mini album released has a slightly different style, yet he keeps his techno-dance feel to make it his own.
Track 1 - The Beginning (intro song) is really suave. It makes me wish it were a full song. (just like the Super Star mini album, the intro feels like it'd make an amazing full song.) 5/5
Track 2 - Sokatda (Betrayed) is released single techno song that is typical to Taegoon's style yet it doesn't disappoint one bit. I'm anticipating seeing this performed live. I really like the PV. 5/5
Track 3 - Malhaejweo (Tell me) is a really nice smooth, soft, techno R&B song that feels like it'd make a nice PV. It's beat kind of reminds me of Son Ho Young's single My Heart's in Heaven. 5/5
Track 4 - Finally is a really nice dance track that slowly builds up hype. It really makes you wanna bounce. It kinds of feels like a song AJOO would sing. ^^ 5/5
Track 5 - Step by Step. This is really the only track I wish were further developed. The back beat is nice but the actually vocal organization could be better. 4/5
Overall, amazing job Taegoon. Keep the ball rolling! ^_^
PS I just wish that he'd release albums instead of a whole bunch of mini albums. A lot of korean artists are doing this nowadays and its a bit annoying to have to keep paying for these mini albums when we could just save money and have them all on one disc... Four Men (4Men) Mini Album - First Kiss
September 18, 2009 A Capella at its bestThese are definitely some talented men. I'm surprised they don't have as much publicity as Fly to the Sky or Brown Eyes. They sound just as good, if not better. I would even go as far to say they are as good as The Gospellers from Japan.
Baby Baby is a lovely R&B/ballad and is my favorite track on this mini album. It has a beautiful high pitched piano opening that slowly introduces a pure voice before the a capella is led in. This song sounds like its sung live because its just a piano and their voices. The A Capella version is also excellent.
First Kiss is a slow R&B song that has a nice old school R&B beat like Boyz II Men. The a capella version is nicely coordinated to be different from the original piece. The voices by themselves sound so good. o.o
Every note was hit perfectly and their harmony rivals many of the top artists I follow. I am amazed by this albums strength and would love the chance to see or even hear this group live.

September 15, 2009 GorgeousFirst of all, the album covers are simply gorgeous.
'Alive' is a japanese version of the famous Italian song 'Lascia ch'io pianga'. At first, I was a little skeptical because my brain couldn't connect Kumi singing such a song, but when I heard it, I fell for it right away. It is simply gorgeous and Kuu does an EXCELLENT job.
'Physical Thing' sounds really good and really balances the single. Kuu just has to show a wild side one way or another. ^^ It really makes you want to get down.
Overall, I like this single much better than the last one. ^_^
PS The live version of TRICK on this single is a full/long version of the Introduction to TRICK on her last album. It sounds EXTREMELY good.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

(2)Our Price: US$12.99List: US$18.99Save: US$6.00 (32%)Usually ships within 7 - 14 daysSeptember 15, 2009 Great CombackAfter two years, Outsider (Shin Ok-cheol) has made an extraordinary comeback. The single 'Alone' is a masterpiece within itself and really does the title of the album justice. Outsider is a true 'Maestro' of his craft. This album really has a different side than his first album. If his past album is considered 'old school hip hop', then this is a classic. This album has a nice mix of classical and R&B music without getting rid of Outsider's true flow and style. Some of the most creative songs are:
Track 5 (Wodoli meaning 'loner' or 'alone') This is the hit single release that really makes this album whole. This song has some amazing lyrics and shows Outsider at his absolute creative best. If nothing made you a fan in the past, this song might turn you around. The PV is really nice and seeing him perform this song live is amazing.
Track 6 (Piero ui noonmool) is an amazing mix of soft harp and violins with a steady hip-hop beat. It truly feels like a story being told. (for anyone who has played Kingdom Hearts II, the background music sounds a bit like when you walk around Beauty and Beast's Castle.) ^^
Track 7 (Therapist) is an unusual mix of rock and rap. It fits Outsider really well and it gives him a perfect time to show off. It feels like a battle.
Track 11 (Luv Business) This is a REALLY nice track. It has an amazing R&B feel and is one of the best collaborations on the album. It has a sweet beat and makes you want to bounce. This is a song that I'd drive around to.
Track 12 (Face Off) MC Sniper and Outsider make a really nice team. Respectively mentor and student, this is an amazing collabortion to hear. Its nice to hear the two 'face off'. The talent really flies in this song.
Overall, compared to the previous album, this one feels more complete in creativity and I highly recommend people give this album a spin. It will leave you amazed and the CD won't leave your player for a long time.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

'Innovation' is the perfect intro that shows off his skills. The song automatically flows into album and you don't even realize that the next song is being played. If you are fan of Epik High, then you'll love this artist. He has so much soul in this album and I feel that his work is pure genius.
PS If you like this album, I highly recommend his new 2009 album (Maestro) He has gotten even faster than before!Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
