Annoying music makes the CD bad Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
I thought my dream had come true when I read “A whole new world” and “Someday my prince will come” in the songlist. Later on I found a translation and realized Emiko was also singing a lot of famous songs, “Lionheart” by SMAP for example. “Eternal Flame” by Bangles have been my favorite song for years, with Emikos beautiful voice, I thought it would be my favorite song ever. I was so happy when the CD arrived, but I was extremely disappointed when I listened. This CD is a great example of ”The voice is too nice for the music”. There´s no doubt that Emiko has a heavenly voice, but the music is amongst the worst I have heard. ”Someday my prince will come” sounds like an over-slowed jazz song, ”Eternal Flame” is just ugh. The chorus is just... I don´t know, it feels “empty”. Actually, most songs on this CD sound like bad pop songs because of the music. My biggest disappointment was “A whole new world”, it starts out kind of weak with “plinky dinky” sounds, but when Emiko sings, I imagine myself on the magical carpet ride with “my prince”. But when she starts singing “Unbelieveable sights...”, suddenly all you hear is BOOM BANG BOOM BOOM BOOOM. The music killed the romance of the song, it´s hard to hear Emikos voice because of the BOOMs. I listened through the songs, “Can you celebreate?” was one of the better songs, because I didn´t like the original by Namie Amuro. Ironically, a song from “Beauty, Classics & Grace” was on this CD, I thought since that CD was good, maybe I could give a better rating to this CD thanks to that song. I put the song on, and it hit me “Oh yeah, that was one of the few songs I didn´t like”. I do play this CD, but it takes a lot of patience because of the music. I can´t sit back and enjoy it. It´s a shame, because Emikos voice is so nice. The good thing about the CD though, is that Emiko sings all songs in English. I didn´t like the original japense songs that much, I appreciate Misias “Everything” more now that I know what the song is about. “Lionheart” was extremely romantic, I love the lyrics. The album is very dissapointing, obviously Emiko has the availability to have beautiful music to her songs, so why did this CD recieve such horrible music?
