Very poor movie Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
I'm truly disappointed with this. I can't understand how others have given this a 4-5star rating.
Poor story line, no character development and the fighting scenes are below standards.
The film just dragged on and on with poor dialogue, so boring.
You would've thought it would be a smash hit judging by the cover like Storm Riders.
Don't waste your time and money on this movie, AVOID!

Waste of everybodys time... Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
What a disappointment. This is a weak movie; weak plot, weak characters and weak acting. Nice camerawork and beautiful landscapes can't save this from being a disaster. This turned out to be just another movie that will be forgotten very soon. Luckily, I have to say.

I watch this movie with my father and my brother. I fell asleep in the first 5 minutes. My father fell in 12 minutes. My brother stay awake and ended up wake me and father up then run up stair and sleep. The next day we tried to play the movie again with a cup of tea and 2 cups of coffie. I made it half of the movie and fell asleep, my father bits me this time, 1/4 of the movie, and my bro just gave up this time.

Very Good Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This was just a sample of the movie. I cannot wait till they release the full 4 hour version. That version will be the complete story. If you don't care about story than just get this one. The action scenes are the best I have seen in a Hong Kong movie in a long time. I just wish the fights were extended and the enemies more challenging.

100% excellency! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I must say that I didn't leave the film until it is finished. I am so impressed by the excellent production done by Tsui Hark. It is more than what I expect to see from his movie. He is a romantic and fanstatic director. Don't have to look for a detail in the story line because it is impossible to express in this 2 and half hours. All the actors and actresses are doing a wonderful job and the action is so fast that you don't feel bored at all. When I am watching this movie, I feel so proud to be a Chinese, not just Hollywood can produce good movies. We can do it too, it is so comparable with The Lord of the rings! Ha! Ha!

Seven Swords is Artistic Film making Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
No matter what anyone says, everyone has a right to express thier opinion. My opinion of The Seven Swords is that it is a very good movie. The story is not boring, as some have mentioned. But as mentioned by a previous poster, to expect the entire novel to be captured in 2 1/2 hours to me is ludicrous. Tsui Hark's direction of this film is artistic & fantastic.

The stroy line is great, the characters are very interesting & even complexed, and the action is superb. Yes, I agree that the character development could have been more indepth. If this was to be a series of movies, then I would expect it to be so. But other than that, I would highly recommend this film to any fan of the genre.

Honestly, with some of the comments that I have read here, it is apparent that some of you need to stick to American/Hollywood made movies only, and this is coming from an American.

Pretty good. Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I think this film is pretty good compare with those films not doing real martial art but only flying around. The story line is fast, sure it couldn't be as rich as the original book because it's only 2 hours. But I think Hark did a good job to catch most important parts in the film. I don't think it's boring at all, it's a martial art film after all, not as emotional as some love stories.

Referring to previous negative reviews Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Overall this was a great movie, it captures tsui harks unique style.
Referring to the negative of previous reviews about how theres no storyline or plot to it well your wrong.
Seven sword is based in the chinese comic just like man called hero & storm rider etc. You expect one movie could capture the plot of over 500 issues in the comic series?
Tsui hark did a great job with the direction how the film was made, overall the plot is simple & straight forward reflecting how the strength of seven swords protects a small village,it wasnt realistic because it wasnt suppose to be fools! The movie is a imaginative outstanding performance specially by leon & donnie yen.
I must agree the movie was extremely dark, but it shows the uniqueness of this movie. This movie would beat crouching tiger in the US box office

How can you give it 5 stars Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
I feel so cheated having seen that this got such high ratings. The action though good, the story behind it was just boring. I am amazed at how people could give it 5 stars. The story line just dragged on, and just got very repetitive. Disappointed
