 "Seven Swords" is Artistic non-sense Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
The fighting scenes are pretty good, but if you're looking for a story line or plot, you won't find it in this movie. This movie is collage of 2.5 hrs of fighting scenes, body parts being cut up, artistic sceneries, lame dialogs, and extraneous scenes that do not enrichen the story.

The dialogs are lame and manyatimes just unnecessary. Character development is non-existent. The character the audience has most sympathy for is Green Pearl, but ironically, she plays a minor (and pointless) role in the movie.

Don't get suckered into buying this "4-star" movie.

 Nice package shame about the movie. Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
I was so disappointed by this movie. I ended up fast forwarding through large chunks of the dvd. With movies like Hero and House of Flying Daggers raising the bar in terms of Asian film making standards, it's sad to see a one time innovator like Tsui Hark apparently running out of ideas. The fight scenes are confused and rely far too heavily on wire work. Donnie Yen's outstanding talent is pitifully under used and the film's score is quite frankly abysmal.

Was expecting another blockbuster movie this year, with Seven swords... But unfortunately was disappointed by a sad storyline as well as poor character build up.

i am so glad though i purchased Initial D. That i would say is a better film for this year... although different stories and also a different one thing remains the same - i want to watch a movie that entertains me. and unfortunately this one didnt.

poor storyline. poor character development. no connection with the audiences.

sigh.. talk about wishful thinking.

 Heartstopping Action and then some ... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
From the opening slaughter of the innocents to the final duels this film is one heartstopping action scene after another. If you get no other Asian film this year buy this one, AND disc 2 which contains more than enough information on the characters, and the making of this film HAS English Subtitles so when the director and the actors talk about their efforts you know exactly what they are saying. GREAT FILM, beautiful packaging, excellent extras. Get it now!

The whole movie is so brutal and dark, many of these brutal scenes are not necessary and completely different from the original story. The movie gave me a very uncomfortable feeling, regardless how much money and time were spent on the filming, my money for the DVD was wasted.

The cast is awsome. You have 2 great fighters that are in the movie, Donnie Yen and Lau Ka Leung. Not only are there two awsome fighters, but the story line is pretty good and based on an awsome fairy tale. Great movie, must watch.

Typical of action film with lots of actions and great lanscape and scenery. The storyline is pretty low and hard to understand the story background at the beginning of the film.
