Singer-songwriter aiko, who was born as Yanai Aiko in Osaka, debuted on the Japanese music scene with the hit song Ashita. A fan of Motown sound, she is known for her unique vocals and melodious works including 1999's Hanabi ("Fireworks") and 2000's Boy Friend, which ranked No. 10 and 2 on the Oricon charts, respectively.
