Ji Xiao Lan was better Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This drama featuring the 'Tie San Jiao' is once again very humorous. However, it got kind of boring at the end; I really liked it at the beginning, with Alyssa Jia/Chia featured, but the rest was kind of boring. The three (Zhang Guo Li, Zhang Tie Lin, Wang Gang) were so funny I was laughing to tears, but they honestly need to stop wasting time so much on useless scenes and have some more witty remarks.

Excellent Cast Reunites Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
As Zhang Guo Li, Zhang Tie Lin, and Wang Kang reunite once more for a traditional piece; their chemistry once again proves that they've got what it takes to produce a memorable series.

Zhang Tie Lin's most memorable role is perhaps playing the Qing dynasty's Qian Long emperor. He showcases all his artistic talent, from the voice-acting, small-gestures, right down to the eye movements.

Wang Kang will be forever remembered as the corrupt He Sheng. His talented voice-acting and stage-presence help to bring cohesion into the cast. Wang Kang is constantly refining his craft as to not let viewers grow tired.

Zhang Guo Li has perhaps the most interesting role in this series. Playing a traveling doctor who coincidentally gets mixed up in an assassination attempt, Zhang Guo Li is thus wrapped into the government politics and conspiracies of the day. Traveling doctor no more... He becomes the Emperor himself!

The three protagonists' refined stagecraft over the years culminates in Shuang Long Hui (Jen Jia Qian Long). What separates this series from Ji Xiaolan is perhaps the screenplay. Characters are given more depth and the storyline is given greater detail, however; at times, the interaction between Zhang Guo Li, Wang Kang and Zhang Tie Lin is fleshed out a bit too much. Always welcome, but the novelty wears off if overused.

Definitely a must see for viewers of traditional dramas and fans of these three actors!

recommended Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This was a good series, and worth your time to watch. The 3 main actors were really good at their roles. Basically, it's about Emperor Qian Long of the Qing dynasty, and he spends the whole series investigating a series of corruptions around China, and spends a lot of time trying to get out of the palace. There's a commoner whom he keeps forcing to switch places with him so that he can leave the palace and royal guards without arousing suspicion..and this all leads to some pretty commical mishaps!

Best Drama In Recent Years Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Both Zhang Guo Li and Wang Gang are great. These two do have chemistry together. Zhang Tie Lin is not bad. However, he seems to have same kind of expressions on his face no matter what kind of role he plays. The script is great. Highly recommend it to those who like Ching comedy.
