Sin City (Hong Kong Version) VCD

Sin City explores the dark alleys and dingy hideouts of a fictional metropolis overrun with gangsters, pimps, prostitutes and corrupt officials - every bit as vile and unpleasant as the city itself. Director Robert Rodriguez interweaves three stories adapted from Frank Miller's cult graphic novel series, to create a film as visually arresting as it is gleefully unpleasant.

Bruce Willis stars as a framed cop, who on his release from jail, goes searching for the girl he failed to protect. Clive Owen ventures into the darkest recesses of the city to save Brittany Murphy from her abusive, corrupt boyfriend (Benicio Del Toro), and Mickey Rourke, in a career-resurrecting role, plays Marv, a seemingly unstoppable hulk, out for revenge when he is framed for the murder of a prostitute.

Filmed entirely in front of digitally rendered backdrops, Rodriguez and Miller (as co-director) have constructed one of the most faithful comic book adaptations ever. The stark black and white images perfectly recreate Miller's original artwork and the impressive cast, which also includes Jessica Alba, Josh Hartnett, and Elijah Wood, willingly indulge themselves as the ensemble of loners and misfits who populate this violent world.
