映画監督に憧れながらも、周りに流されるまま自動車教習所で働く理一は、ある日、高校時代の教育実習生・衣咲に再会する。衣咲が理一の働く教習所に通いだしたことから、理一の友人・幸平や兄の英介、衣咲の後輩・実乃も交えての交流が始まった。やがて、衣咲が恋と仕事のどっちつかずで悩んでいることを知った理一は、高校時代、彼女の言葉に励まされて映画監督を目指したことを明かすのだが…。

Slow Dance is a Japanese TV drama starring Tsumabuki Satoshi, Fukatsu Eri, Fujiki Naohito, Hirosue Ryoko. Ebihara Yuri has a small part in it as Fujiki Naohito's ex-girlfriend.

Serizawa Riichi (Tsumabuki Satoshi) is 25 years old. His dream and desire is to be a great film director, but he does not feel too confident about this and thus takes a regular job as a driving teacher at Asahi Driving School. One morning, he goes to Hemingway (a cafe) and orders a double capuccino, but the waitress makes a mistake with his order. He goes back to get it exchanged and ends up arguing with a female customer who tells him to wait in line like the rest of the customers. It is her turn to order, not him. Her name is Makino Isaki (Fukatsu Eri). She is 31 years old. She is very strong and outspoken. She works at a clothing shop as a shop keeper selling clothes. Her boyfriends is a salaryman who proposes to her, but she turns down his marriage proposal because she is not sure she wants to go to Germany with him. Later, he decides to break up with her.

Makino Isaki is learning and trying to get her driver's license. It is such a coincidence that one day her instructor is Serizawa Riichi. She feels embarrassed for having argued with him at Hemingway and apologizes. This is not their second meeting. They have met before a long time ago. Riichi remembers she was once his teacher when he was still going to school.

Side story:
Serizawa Eisuke is Riichi's older brother (Fujiki Naohito) 32 years old, and is very intelligent and works in a bank. He later quits and opens a bar. He breaks up with his "needy" yet very beautiful girlfriend (Ebihara Yuri). And later gets into a situation with Koike Mino (Hirosue Ryoko), 24 years old and works as a sales girl at a clothing shop (the shop where Isaki works at).

The more time that Riichi and Isaki spends, they start to develop a friendship and later develop strong feelings for each other, which they thought were not possible. And later, they forget about their age difference. They discover they have a lot in common and think alike.

Slow Dance is a good drama about young people trying to find their place in society. Turning their dreams and desires into reality. They stand up to their fears and struggles with strong hearts and open minds, alongside with friends.
