經許多電影及漫畫的渲染下，令少林寺這名字聞名於世。但其真實一面卻從未被公開。坊間流傳真正的少林武術是由少林寺的俗家弟子所創立而非少林寺的僧侶，本片將會為大家首次披露嵩山少林寺最真實的一面。
為拍攝本紀錄片，本片的監製Gen Takahashi先生，先要跟嵩山少林寺簽署一份協議書，証明本片內部份有關少林寺的氣功和少林寺武僧團的示範均是首次向外界公開的。
Songshan Shaolin Temple, Henan Province in China, is the world-renowned home of the Shaolin school of kung fu and the birthplace of the Buddhist sect founded by Damo.
As famous as it is, the true story of Shaolin Temple is virtually unknown, embellished by countless action movies and comic books over the years.
Films, shows and publications that purported to reveal “the real Shaolin martial arts” were created by students of the Shaolin discipline, not its monks. This movie brings the real tale of Shaolin to the outside world for the first time, told from the viewpoint of the monks who rule it.
To make this documentary video, Gen Takahashi, the producer, concluded an official contract with Songshan Shaolin Temple, Henan Province—the only such contract ever signed. The film includes never-before-seen footage of Shaolin breathing exercises, one of the keys to this mysterious discipline; and some of the secret techniques of the Shaolin Martial Monks Troupe, the highest authority of the temple.
