This collector's edition comes with a DVD (approximately 80 minutes) featuring 12 live tracks from a concert at the fishermen pier as well as the previously unreleased music documentary "Star New York Love Story Recollection" and a photo book.

Taiwan diva A-Mei Chang's music career began over a decade ago and has so far spanned 12 albums and earned her dozens of music awards. Born as the seventh of nine children, A-Mei almost gave up the idea of becoming a singer, but with her dad's encouragement, she won a major song contest in 1994. After she signed her first record deal in 1996, things started to skyrocket for A-Mei as both her debut Sisters and the follow-up album Bad Boy went to the No. 1 spot of the IFPI sales chart and remained there for 9 weeks. A-Mei's latest album has simply been titled Star and marks her return to the pop scene after her performance in the musical "In Love With Carmen". Among the songs on this highly anticipated album are "In Case You Have Also Heard About It" and "Eternal Happiness".

She IS a star Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Her new album Star is one of her greatest so far.
It has lots in it, pop, disco and a jazz influences in her English track "Don't sail away".
All beautifully blended to a 12 track CD.

The DVD though is not as good as expected. A-Mei's performance is great and the show is really good to. But the quality of the recording, It has really bad editing and the volume between cuts are not in level.
For those who are true fans I can recommend it even if the quality of DVD is low.

I would have given a 10 if it wasn't for the DVD.

A. mei has a beautiful voice that is almost impossible to say anything bad about! Her singing talent and ability is second to none and this album only demonstrates this fact entirely Track nine is a favourite. Absolutely brilliant

Gorgeous Voice Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The ballads on this album are very emotive and beautiful. A-Mei's delivery is still powerful but it has also become a little subdued, a bit delicate this time around. I believe it is an indication of maturity in her style and voice. I don't think there is any style that she cannot do; her voice is suited for everything. I was even impressed with the uptempo songs. "Summer Wave" was a definite stand out. But my favorites are the ballads: "Who Loves Me" / "Have You Heard Lately?" / "Soul Mate", etc.

a-mei's voice is very powerful. this album really shows it. i enjoyed almost every track especially track #9. this album is a must have. if you've never heard of her, this album will give you what she really is made of. you won't be disappointed.
