October 8, 2008 SHINee, the next big starThis is a little late but I've recently purchased the mini album not so long ago. This is their debut album so I wanted to support them because they really have the talent at such a young age, props to SM. I really like the contemporary band idea; they are setting a lot of new trends in fashion, music, dance, etc. which is great.
Their title track Replay is quite a catchy beat and even the dance is magical haha. My favorite songs so far are Replay, In My Room, and Real. The package is really cute and colorful, definitely my type of CD. The members were just adorable in the booklet, it display a youthful side. In my opinion, it’s probably one of their best albums so far because it has many varieties of genres that they’ve never tried before, it can be quite a challenge. I’m glad the members participated in the song selection because all the 12 songs really stand out as an individual; every song has its uniqueness. Their vocals improved a lot and their live performances were simply breathtaking. My only disappointment was that they didn’t include an acapella song. I thought it was unusual because they are an acapella group. I really miss hearing those songs so I hope they will consider adding it for their next album. Another minor point is that they didn’t add any English subtitles, I am glad that they made it into an All Region DVD though but a lot of international fans are buying this album. SM should think about that because it would really increase the sales.
I was quite happy when I received this in the mail ^^ I bought both the photobook and the DVD version. The packaging was nicely done; each came with a plastic box to hold the CD + photobook/DVD together. The box itself can be misleading though because the CD was placed in the back of the box. I seriously thought they forgot to put my CD in the package haha.
The photobook version came with a 60 page-booklet with lyrics and “thanks to” inside.
The DVD version came with this little A-nation page filled with cute pictures and a 24-page booklet (including the cover) with “thanks to” but there are only 5 solo pictures in there. The DVD has the members’ interviews and A-nation clips.
