October 5, 2004 funny!"Women from Mars" is a wonderfully funny movie. I purchased it after watching Ekin Cheng in "Twins effect" and he does a wonderful job in this movie as well. When I first wanted to see it, everyone warned me about the use of violence, but after watching it for the first time, I realized that there was a underlying meaning to all the bloodshed. (which I honestly didn't think was all that bad, compared to some other movies) This movie can be taken on so many levels..very symbolic. The first 30 or so minutes however, did bring back memories of the first great film.. but once the real action got started, I found it a little unbelieveable and the plot hard to follow. There are a lot of cut scenes that never made it into the domestic version, as well as a different soundtrack. The extras that came with it.. the lovely full color shiny postcards are quite beauitful, and the minature replica sword is just too cute! Also the extra disk is packed with behind the scenes features, and is well worth it! I would recommend this collectors edition to anyone who even remotely enjoyed the movie!
