TAKUI-SWANKY GOD POP 1.BABY GO FOR IT Hm¡Kthis seemed like a pretty cheesy starter song when I first heard it but after the like 5th or 6th time I listened to it(honestly, it was pretty crappy to me at first), I started to like it. The chorus as usual is catchy but not in a Punk sorta ¡§power¡¨ way sadly. The ¡§la la la laa la la la laa¡¨ part is pretty funny I suppose(?). If you¡¦re a newbie fan and you like his later stuff, you¡¦ll either hate or like it¡Kthere¡¦s just no in between I guess. 2.(It¡¦s gonna be) OK Yeah! This song rules! Some may say it¡¦s poppy but the verse and chorus is just good ol¡¦ light punk TAKUIsm (;P)It¡¦s a good song to listen to when you¡¦re feeling a little down(don¡¦t quote me on that if you¡¦re having some biggie love problem now k?cause that¡¦s happening to me and I prefer¡¦d to listen to NEVER FADES AWAY and release a few tears) 3.DRIVE MY LIMO Hahaha. The title kicks a** and so does the song. The parts when TAKUI doesn¡¦t sing(the verse)and there¡¦s this nifty guitar solo thing(at the start of the song)sounds like one of that OFFSPRING song. It¡¦s cool though and obviously THE OFFSPRING¡¦s songs pale in comparison to this. I mean this song just rocks man~The chorus is just wayyyyYYyyy cool and there¡¦s this cute clarinet thing going which doesn¡¦t irritate at all!*thumbs up*By the way, check out the PV at www.takui.com and laugh! Wahahhaha! 4.SHINING DAYS A ballad here folks. The song starts out with some nice keyboards(orchestra) and goes into the chorus quickly. Marching band song. That was the first thing that came into my mind.ahhaha. The song is pretty ok I guess,the chorus is a little weak but an overall ok song~ 5.WORKING CLASS HI-SCHOOL TAKUI¡¦s voice is distorted during the verses and the part before the chorus, there¡¦s some dudes which I assume is his tour members shouting ¡§working class hi-school¡¨ I think. Catchy and western-feel chorus is plenty in this song. Not too bad, but not really my taste I guess(the stuff in NUCLEAR SONIC PUNK was wayyyyy better) 6.OH MY DARLING The 2nd best song in this mini-album. Very very catchy chorus and a sweet song. The chorus reminds me of The Beatles somehow(-_-)strange huh? Well, maybe it isn¡¦t since TAKUI is a self-proclaimed Beatles fan. It¡¦s pretty strange but for a 2nd best song(in my opinion k?), I don¡¦t have much to say but it¡¦s just great¡K 7.NEVER FADES AWAY This song¡Kthe first word that comes to my mind is beautiful. The keyboards are used well to compliment the melodious lines of guitars interwoven throughout the song. This is the ¡§STAY TOGETHER¡¨(CHUNKY GOD POP)of SWANKY GOD POP so you can get my riff here. I personally call it STAY TOGETHER 2 but the guitars are not as heavy as STAY TOGETHER but the progression is pretty much the same. By the way, TAKUI sings about Santa Claus somewhere¡Khahaah¡KNEVER FADES AWAY is just the perfect ending to a good mini-album(i count it mini because it has only 7 songs although everyone is saying it¡¦s an album>_<) |
