Cheung and Lau are grow up together just like brothers. Now Cheung is returning to Hong Kong after an apprenticeship to Scotland Yard. Lau, he is the fast rising gun man of the underworld. But Lau has his principles. He won't touch narcotics; nor does he carry out executions blindly. And he is in love with Vivien. The first case Cheung is assigned to is to crack Yeung's gang. Cheung finds himself at odds with his superior Sek. Also he finds Lau is Yeung's right hand man. Cheung pleads for Lau's reform. Yeung who is getting suspicious of Lau, asks Lau to handle drug negotiations. The talks end in a gun fight. Lau is wounded. He is also being sought by police......

| this film is a very good example of Andy Lau'S EARLY CAREER..IT'S CERTAINLY WORTH WATCHING..IT IS THE USUAL TRIAD YARN..DONE WELL..WITH ENOUGH BLOOD(LOTS OF IT!!)..GUTS(DITTO)..& DRAMA--& LOST LOVE...W/ A LOVE SCENE THAT'LL BE CONSIDERED HOT FOR EASTERN STANDARDS...& ENOUGH TWISTS & TURNS..ALL AROUND EXCITING ENOUGH TO HOLD ONE'S ATTENTION..WELL DIRECTED.GOOD CAST..RECOMMENDED! |
