(Cry Cry, I’m so bad, O my god, Goodbye, OK, Cry Cry[Ballad ver.])
‘Lovey-Dovey[Club Remix ver.]

Lovey Dovey vs. Cry Cry Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This review isn't actually pitching Lovey Dovey against Cry Cry. Rather, it's a reference to something the producers said when making both songs: they wanted T-ara to have two entirely opposing concepts for the original "Black Eyes" mini-album and the "Funky Town" repackage. That being said, while "Black Eyes" (which had 'Cry Cry') was dark, "Funky Town" (which has 'Lovey Dovey') returns to the disco style of 'Roly Poly' from T-ara's "John Travolta Wanna Be" CD. "Funky Town" is based more around the concept of club-going, however, and the tracks and accompanying music videos reflect that idea well.

1. Lovey Dovey: like 'Roly Poly', this track aims to bring back the style of club music, and does it well. It has that party beat that would be right at home in a Saturday night get-together, and while the song isn't showcasing vocals, it's the feel of 'Lovey Dovey' that ultimately drives it through. Though the lyrics are about searching for a lover, there's nothing dark about the song at all, unlike their 'Cry Cry' track.
2. We Were In Love ft. Davichi: as the name suggests, this ballad features Davichi, the duo composed of Kang Min-kyung and Lee Haeri, also under the Core Contents Media music agency. Interestingly, quite a few T-ara members are included, namely Soyeon, Hyomin, Hwayoung, and Jiyeon, making it 6 singers for this song. While it's debatable whether so many singers are needed, the ballad sounds good nonetheless, and the strong vocals of Davichi and Soyeon drive the emotion home. Likewise, the rapping from both Kang Min-kyung and Hwayoung set the emotion of the song further on edge.
3. Lovey Dovey (Club Remix ver.): this should really be called Lovey Dovey In Tokyo, as it was used for T-ara's "Lovey Dovey in Tokyo MV". Musically, it's closer to what would be the instrumental version of 'Lovey Dovey', as the track beat is stretched out and the only vocals are in the chorus.

The other 5 tracks are from "Black Eyes", so I'll just cover the repackage songs here. Needless to say, the clubbing concept is much brighter in this repackage and more like the original T-ara dance style from 2009. Just know that you won't be getting the hardcover photobook that "Black Eyes" was packaged in.

</3 Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Now, about the packaging, though I personally think the booklets aren’t really outstanding, they're still nice.

As for 'Black Eyes', the booklet was huge with hard-cover (almost A4 size) and contains mostly B&W photos from the set of 'Cry Cry' MV. But really, I think the outfits don't look very nice. Even the girls' new hairstyles are just average :(. Still, I quite approve the cool, even ice-cold appearances and expressions of the girls. Another half of the booklet are colored photos from the mini-drama-MV. Still, I didn't like it very much. And last, there are some BTS pictures that looked brighter and more refreshing but still, I wouldn't recommended this.

As for 'Funky Town', the concept is better as they portraited the more colorful, lively, sexy and pretty dance-club-princesses. Though I think this concept isn’t really new, I still recommend this, if you're wondering which to choose :)

I would really like some posters, but I guess that doesn't really matter :)

Goodbye, it's OK...♥ Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
T-ara always delivers outstanding music along with catchy concept and this time, it's no different. I purchased both 'Black Eyes' and the repackaged 'Funky Town' CDs and I must say I'm totally satisfied with the high-quality music.

'Cry Cry' really deserves to be the hit it is, as it contains strong, catchy beat and unique melody. It's powerful and sorrow at the same time, and I believe the song has the ability to catch anyone's ears from the first time.

'Goodbye, OK' is my personal favourite track. The song catches my heart as I can easily understand the feeling of the track: it's like a sad love story in which lovers part ways with "Goodbye, it's OK..."s yet they're still longing, missing each other, the melody slowly develops from right after the breaking when the woman's trying to act as if she's alright to the eruption of mixed feelings between miss and grief and blames until the melody fades away as the sorrowful feeling still remains, stronger and deeper...

'O My God' is back with T-ara's classical, 'mushy' cute love songs. And I must say T-ara can pull any kind of music (well, maybe not rock, but you know what I mean ;). I love the sweet vocals and baby-cute squishy melody ♥

'I'm So Bad' is quite a catchy track with easy-to-listen-to melody, and even if it' my least favourite track from this EPs, it's still one of my favourite ;). I love how it showed the sassy, cool side of T-ara that's still attractive while not trying to sound sexy or anything.

'Cry Cry (Ballad Ver.)', though I personally think, is not as good as the original, but it scored for beautiful piano and emotional, painful theme that I suppose, would fit anyone in a broken, or one-sided relationship :p

'Lovey Dovey' is a very cute and catchy dance track, and I just totally love the choreography! But other than that, I think the track may make a hit, but not really an outstanding one :p. And the co-called "Club Remix Ver." is even less interesting but right as its name, it seems like it can only be played in clubs :)

'우리 사랑했잖아' (We Were In Love) is really DAEBAK!!!! I just simply adore all the professional rappings and beautiful opening violin. Really, this is like the track that everyone should check out, even if they haven't known T-ara girls.

Overall, it's a 9.5/10 for music. Totally outstanding :)

Lovey Dovey – cute but great dance song Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
T-ara seem to be at home with rhymey or repeat title songs (Roly Poly, Cry Cry, Bye Bye, Bo Peep Bo Peep). Okey Dokey next time, girls? Well T-ara certainly have a ‘all is well’ dance song with “Lovey Dovey”, as no matter how cute and simplistic the title sounds (adoration over information?), this electro dance number is probably one of the best T-ara dance songs they’ve ever had - and a great dance song in itself. Well, maybe. But from the serious moody synth start to an instantly bright dance song “Lovey Dovey” as a sharp simple mega beat to like instantly; a sure fire hit for the dance floors certainly, and will become popular for T-ara for a long time. This CDs “Lovey Dovey Club Re-mix” also intensifies that, although it’s mainly very close to the original. I expect many more re-mixes of this song though. Of the second song “We Were In Love”, T-ara sing with Korean duo Davichi and one of the latter’s ballad types, but with a more mid-tempo beat. It’s a very good song certainly. Tracks 4-8 are the same songs from T-ara’s Vol 4 mini album “Black Eyes”, the nearest in tone and dance to LD being “I’m So Bad”, but as these songs are very good it makes overall “Funky Town” a top buy. Get this version for the songs certainly!

But of course “Black Eyes” being a big coffee table photo booklet with lots of T-ara photos from the “Cry Cry” MV shoot, no doubt a big T-ara fan would get that version as well (ahem!). “Funky Town” is a more modest portrait hard cover that you normally get from K-pop packaging, but again it as lots of T-ara photo pics in the attached booklet. Yep, a great lead song to brighten your day, with T-ara becoming ever popular by the minute. I wonder if there are songs “Black Eyes” and “Funkey Town”? Anyway, Well done, well done T-ara W-ara! :D
