Only four months after releasing his debut mini-album, superstar-in-the-making Tae Goon is already dropping his second mini-album Rising Star. The K-pop rookie shot to fame with his last single Call Me, and he's scored another catchy hit this time with the sleek and sexy dance number "Superstar" (Track 2) featuring Nassun. Actress Park Shin Hye who starred in the Call Me music video is leading lady again for the "Superstar" MV, which shows off Tae Goon's dancing moves and hot new look. Tae Goon has also worked on his vocals, as he took lessons from Wheesung in preparation for this album. Rising Star comes with four other tracks including the silky uptempo ballad "As Insignificant as You" (Track 4) and a remix version of Call Me featuring H-Eugene who also participated in Tae Goon's last album.

1집 “콜미”로 전국민을 “콜미춤”에 이어 “콜미”열풍을 일으킨 태군이 이젠 더 강렬하고, 파워풀하며, 세련된 남성미까지 갖춘 진정한 남자가 되어 가요계로 돌아왔다.
이번 타이틀곡 '슈퍼스타'는 송봉조, EJ SHOW의 작곡과, 가수 휘성이 '태군'을 생각하며 '더 힘을 내'라는 선배로서의 진심 어린 응원의 메시지를 담아 작사한 곡이다. 또한 이곡은Groove Electro Synth Dance라는 장르의 곡으로서 "놀러와"로 인기몰이중인 랩퍼'낯선'의 거친 Rap과 hook이 드라마틱한 상황을 한층 더 연출하였다. [슈퍼스타]는 2009년 가장 주목받는 신인 남자가수 태군이 더 이상 '제 2의 비'가 아닌 새로운 [슈퍼스타]의 탄생을 확인케 해줄 곡으로서, 휘성의 가사가 곡에 힘을 한층 업그레이드 시켜줘 더욱 기대를 모으고 있으며 안무는 손담비의'미쳤어'에 이어'콜미'열풍을 만든 곽귀훈의 작품이다.
앨범 발매전부터 온라인을 통해 공개된 “네까짓 게”라는 곡의 티져 영상이 화제가 되었다. 이는 휘성이 작사, 작곡했으며 실연당한 남자의 답답한 심정을 애절하게 호소력 있게 표현한 발라드곡이다.

Great Single

I just bought this CD yesterday - late but better than never and I cannot wait to get my copy. I really like the song Super Star a lot and I can say that all songs on this Single are awesome. His voice is great and I am looking forward to more stuff of him <3 This single is really worth to buy and for fans a must have!! Taegoon did a great job ...go on like this!! |

Once Again, Taegoon releases another mini album that's completely his own. Call Me was an excellent single however, this time arounf, the single Superstar was one of the songs I didn't really care for compared to the other songs on the mini album. I think ByeBye would have been the best choice as a single release. ^^ However, regardless, I love every other song on the mini album. Call Me Remix is wonderfully done with H-Eugene. Good job Taegoon. Just keep the ball rolling until your first album! ^_^ |

I loved TaeGoon's first mini album. But I think Rising Star is ultimately better than TaeGoon's first mini album. I love every single track on it. Glad YesAsia added it, because I will buy it. WheeSung penned songs on this album, and they are very good. TaeGoon's vocals have improved very much, and He is showing a very improved image right now! I Look forward to even more releases. |
