One of the best war movie ever made Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
i saw this movie and was blown away at how good it was. i ranked this movie as one of the best war movies ever made; among other war movies like "Saving Private Ryan" and "Blackhawk Down". you can definately feel the reality of war from this movie. Besides the great special effects put into this movie, both of the lead male actors were great at portraying their charactors. if you are a true fan of war movies, "this movie is a must see." so don't miss out on this awesome movie. i promise you won't regret it.

At first,I tought I wasn't going to like it, but when I watched it,it was one of the best movie that I ever saw Won Bin and Jang Dong Gun did. The movie was sad. Two brothers in the war,trying to survive together. At the end only one survived. The other brother died, also his wife. I cried to this movie.Anyone who hasn't seen it, you must see it!

I bought this DVD for so many reasons: a few are 1st because of the reviews here in YesAsia, and 2nd, because my idol (Myuu 'Mew' Azama - PGSM Sailor Jupiter) recommended it. This movie is fantastic! My parents are in awe of this movie, we kept talking about it for the next 3 days. You'll laugh, and you'll definitely cry. My mom vowed never to watch it again because she doesn't want to cry that much for a movie, but she loved it nonetheless. The actors are amazing, sweep you off your feet! This is a very good Korean movie, my dad is amazed by the creativity of the storyline. Definitely a must-see for everyone. Don't miss this out. My sister is practically bawling at the end.

A Soldier's Point of View Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I saw this movie today and it was just beautifully done. I was amazed when I saw this and also cried like a baby!

I'm a Korean Canadian in the Canadian military reserves as a medic and what made this film so different from the Hollywood films like Saving Private Ryan was the way they depicted both sides as "humans". Movies like Saving Private Ryan are so patriotic and it sort of clouds the views of many. Taegukgi showed the human side of both sides which made me think. "If I were ever to go into war, would I be able to kill a human being? My opponents are humans too and they are doing what they are doing to protect their loved ones, just like me."

The way the movie depicted the korean war was so realistic and very sorrowful. This movie really hits you hard and emotions just run when you watch this movie. Even after watching it, it still affects me and my devotion for the army has grown ultimately stronger.

Overall, this movie was beautifully made. The soundtrack was also very well done.

An unbiased movie which successfully portrays the aspects of the Korean war. It is entertaining and the same time educational. The only negative is that the characters overacted a little and last part was a little confusing.

The movie is very bloodly, but thats war. the 2 main actors are excellent and Mr. Jang is outstanding. the story is heartaching and protray very detail between 2 brothers love. Also, the english subtitle are very well written.

The tragedies of War... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
When I set out to watch "TaeGukGi" I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. I thought the beginning was going to be longer and the brothers wouldn't be thrown into the war so fast. This film is nothing like "Saving Private Ryan" or any other film about brothers wanting to save one another during the tragedies of war. This movie shows us the real face of war and how gruesome it is. Most of us haven't experienced war first hand, but while watching this movie I felt like I was right there with the men. The music, the screen shots, the choreography of the whole movie was captivating and moving. I cried, I laughed, and I had hopes. This is Won Bin's best role that he's ever played and I hope that he gets some kind of award for it. Jang Dong Gun plays an exceptional role as Won Bin's older brother. They could practically be real brothers in real life! I waited to see this movie and upon seeing it, it's changed my views on war... and I've learned so much more about the Korean War through this movie. To the director... whatever inspired you to make a movie like this... Kamsamnida.

JDG won the Best Actor Award Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Although I think this film is not the best one in depicting bortherhood and the performance of the actors ore moderate, it's true that JDG won the Best Actor Award of the 25th Blue Dragon Ward by this film. So, I have to see this film again.

Best Movie Of The Year!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
If you are to pick one of the best movie of the year, I recommend Taegukgi over other hollywood movies. I mean yes it is a foreign film, and it's somewhat different from the "Hollywood type" which spice things up pretty well. I've watched with all my friends, and they loved it; also planning on showing the film to bigger crowd to expose them the scenes of the Korean War which the movie depicts very well. Best wishes to the director Kang Jae Gyu as he recently announced his intention working with Hollywood. Overall great film with terrific storyline!! Must see film of the year!!!
