Raises craftmanship to fine art Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I understand that, since making "Wakusei", Tamaki Koji announced his retirement due to health reasons. If this album is the last we hear from Tamaki, then he certainly went out on a high note. "Wakusei" is not music that shakes you and makes you say "Wow!" Instead, it sneaks up on you and wins you over with its beautifully crafted songs, polished playing, and Tamaki's consistently gorgeous vocals. Man, this guy can sing! The album primarily consists of mid-tempo pop and rock, in a wide variety of arrangements, with occasional heart-tugging ballads. "Wakusei" is a solid capstone to a terrific career.
