YesAsia Editorial Description

Korean Wave heartthrob Kim Rae Won (Rooftop Room Cat) stars in the 2004 MBC drama Tell Me You Love Me, alongside award-winning film actress Yeom Jung Ah (A Tale of Two Sisters), Yoon So Yi (Goodbye Solo), and Kim Sung Soo (Full House, Lawyers). Unlike many Korean dramas which rely on pure love and teary melodrama, Tell Me You Love Me explores both the innocent and dark sides of love and human nature.

Byung Soo (Kim Rae Won) and Young Chae (Yoon So Yi) have been inseparable since childhood. The perfect couple in everyone's eyes, they even work at the same film company, working together to achieve their common dream. Their happiness is a thorn to film company CEO Ina (Yeom Jung Ah), a successful businesswoman who has worked hard to achieve her current position, but yet can't seem to find happiness. Seeing Byung Soo dote on Young Chae only reminds her further of how empty her life and relationship with buddy and lover Hee Soo (Kim Sung Soo) are. Ina decides that she must break apart Byung Soo and Young Chae.

SUCKS HARD !! Customer Review Rated Bad 0 - 0 out of 10
Hated it !!

This drama should be called "Stupid people doing stupid things stupidly with stupid results".

Plot in a nutshell: Naive small-town couple moves to the big city and gets a job at the same place. Lady boss is jealous and tries to (and succeeds) break them up so she can have the guy for herself.

Through it all, it just has so many incidents which make the viewer wonder, "Are they really that stupid? Here are supposedly grown people (20 - 30-somethings) acting like nine year olds.

One moment the girl vows revenge and to make her ex-boyfriend suffer for the rest of her life, the next moment she is crying because he is suffering so much. Huh????

The lady boss pre-meditatedly steals the boyfriend and yet when she is confronted breaks down and cries that, 'I didn't know it'd be so hard.' Well, lady, what d'ya think -- what do you think happens when you steal something that's not yours, you think there are no consequences, are you an idiot ?? Yes, evidently you are....

It's repeated stuff like this that makes this drama BLOW HARD. I've seen plenty of K-drama to know that this is BAD. Even the editing is bad and jumpy.

I got to episode nine and threw it in the trash.....

There's no redemption, nothing worthwhile, just bad writing.

The really good K-dramas connect you with the characters. You get so invested in them that if you see the 'bad girl' on the street, you'd want to punch her in the face, even though you know she is an actress who's played a role written for the screen. With this one, you'd want to punch them in the face for acting in such an inane, meaningless, poorly written, immature, hard to watch, disappointing, painful, disastrous, awful, depressing, badly scripted joke/disaster of a drama that it should be an embarrassment to the whole Republic of Korea.

Poorly written, not fun to watch.

Not watching this feels so good - it's like being hit in the head with a hammer repeatedly; when it stops, you feel better.

Loved It Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I'm a big fan of Kim Rae-Won and I felt he did a great job playing the naive young lover in this show. Of course, as someone else mentioned his character's decisions made me mad as well, but you're still able to root for him in the end. All the actors did great jobs, and I felt myself get choked up quite a lot watching this one. I I felt the writing was clever compared to a lot of other, more-popular dramas. Will definitely be buying this set.

Emotionally draining Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
I can't tell you how I looked forward to watching this drama on TV after seeing Kim Rae-won perform on Rooftop Romance, however, this entire drama turned out to be so overly draining on the emotions. The actors were quite good but the storyline was extreme. In a nutshell, it is about lost of innocence, lust, obsession, an depression and finally, redemption. Not a good feel when watching a television drama after a hard day at work. Definitely not a drama for teens or children.

Finally the DVD is here.... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I have been waiting for this drama to come out on DVD since I had seen the drama on tv. I had been
fasinated with Kim Rae Won (I have all the dvds that I can find with him in them). When he smiles, it just
lights up the room (notice that with many Korean actors?).

The thing that is hard to watch on the drama is that Yum Jung Ah's role...she is so addicted to Byung Soo
(Kim Rae Won) that she doesn't care who she hurts as long as she can have him. She must have had
some negative feedback from fans after doing the show.

Kim Rae Won & Yoon So Yi's roles when together is what makes this very emotional drama watchable. They
have great chemistry together. Kim Rae Won with Kim Tae Hee in Love Story in Harvard also had great
chemistry with eachother.

Now I am trying to find the OST cd for the drama...when there is music cd to go with it I normally get it
seems I can't find the OST yet. Love the music (Fly to The Sky sings in it).
