Adapted from Aoki Takeo's manga, 2006 TBS drama Teppan Shojo Akane!!, a.k.a. Teppan Girl, revolves around the two most important things in life - food and family. Starring Horikita Maki (Kurosagi) and Tsukamoto Takashi (Kisarazu Cat's Eye), the story follows a young woman's search for her father, and her growth as a chef along the way. The drama is full of mouthwateringly entertaining culinary showdowns and reveals interesting perspectives about food culture and family in the non-stop bustle of modern living.

Ever since her father disappeared a year ago, Kagura Akane (Horikita Maki) has been running the family teppanyaki restaurant by herself. Her father was once the top teppanyaki chef in Japan, but he lost the will to cook after the death of Akane's mother and left home shortly after. Now alone, Akane is working hard to preserve her father's legacy and restaurant, but when a debtor comes knocking, she knows she can't hold up the restaurant much longer. Along with her boyfriend Shinta (Tsukamoto Takashi), Akane sets out on a journey to find her father, getting pulled into culinary competitions at seemingly every stop.

故事描述神樂 茜(堀北真希飾)，經營著東京下町一間鐵板燒店「千雪」，父親神樂鐵馬，被日本美食王嵐山蒼 龍(龍雷太飾)，喻為全日本第一的鐵板料理人。可是鐵馬在喪妻後失去鬥志，一年前更神秘失蹤。某天，西豪寺FOODS食品公司的社長千金，西豪寺愛蓮娜 (片瀬那奈飾)突然造訪，拿著借據來要求收店。在絕望的時候，得到嵐山蒼龍的幫助而暫時免除收店危機。

這時，自稱是父親的好友，神秘的人物黒金銀造(陣内孝則飾)，帶來鉄馬遺下，叫做「鉄輪魂」的貨車，以及厚達5cm的鐵板“一鐵”來訪，為了要尋找失蹤了的父親，小茜在初戀男友心太的協助下，展開全國之旅，挑戰全國各地的料理達人。
